Tom, the best will be any family owned small restaurant in the area, possibly with ties going back to Italy.
They will make you best pizza hands down. Better than any chain. |

"Reports that the pizza chain Papa Johns is closing tenth of it's uk sites. Who makes the best pizza?
Papa John, Domino, Pizza Hut or another ?"
None of the above.
Chains are almost always just after profit. Independent, family run places are far more likely to be fantastic |

Exactly…. my independent family run pizza making runs on passion not profit. It exists solely to satisfy |

Fast food pizza?
Domino's.
I used to work for them so, I can vouch for the fact their pizzas are about as fresh as its possible to get in a fast food environment.
Really quality pizza?
You can't get that delivered, and you won't find it at a chain. |

Totally agree , If see chicken tikka , lamb kebab, or full English breakfast pizzas on the menu I begin to question their authenticity and wonder what grade of olive oil they might be using. |

I was never a fan of those chain pizza places. I worked at one through uni and even with the staff discount I thought it was expensive for what it was.
I love the local one in town called 'The Best Takeaway'. The base and sauce just lovely. Base has the perfect amount of crunchy and chew. Sauce explosion of tomato.... |

"I don’t like pizza #controversial "
Emma, I know you've got wonderful buttocks but your views on pizza have really put me off you.
You're gonna have to really try hard to turn things around if you ever want to get near this body of mine |

I think you will find that they are probably using Castrol GTX. |

If we're talking strictly about chains, then Fireaway.
Otherwise, there's a bunch of independent pizzarias and restaurants.
It's a shame we don't have more NYC style ones that sell by the slice (Pizza Warehouse in Camden for example). |

Papa John's not a chain, it's a franchise. Sites would only close if the franchisee is losing money or not hitting expected sales targets. |

In terms of a quick takeaway pizza, not the very best possible pizza, it's Dominos now.
Papa Johns used to do the best garlic bread with pizza sauce dip but ditched it a few years ago.
Pizza Hut is meh in restaurants or takeaways. |
