So many folk not reading the OP’s OP
I always delete messages from my sent box as soon as I’ve sent them. That way I don’t have the anxiety. If they reply I’ll know they’re interested in chatting. |

I started fully using fabswingers in mid-August. I sent several messages in the first 3 months. I've never sent two or three messages in one day. I always wait a couple of days at least to send a message to another person on my hotlist, sometimes I wait much less, when I see that that person has connected a lot and has ignored my message.
Whatever the case, my unread messages always pile up. If the message is not read, a few days pass and the person does not respond, I delete it and also from the hotlist. Logically the same if it's read and deleted by that person.
But the worst of all is when I connect and see that several messages have disappeared, which means that I have been blocked. Was the message read? No idea.
From November until less than a month ago I didn't send a single message. I sent a few in the last 3 weeks. Now I have 6 accumulated, waiting to be read (3 have not connected in almost 3 weeks). I would have some more but I deleted them since they were read and deleted... and others... well... disappeared.
I often wonder why I still try. Since it takes a long time to write a good message to someone to either be blocked or read and deleted or ignored... Obviously for people who receive dozens of messages a day, it is wasting time to reply to someone to say: " Sorry, I'm not interested", although for me to receive a message like that would be like a triumph. However, I feel like I end up in the trash along with those who send messages like:
Subject: Hey
Hi mate,
How are you doing?
The above is a real message, received a few days ago.

Zero, I recently got advised to delete once sent the I’ll not know if a message is deleted or un-read  so if I get a response it’s just a nice surprise even if it reads no thanks

3 - 1 was someone who gushed (not literally) over our profile and we sent a reply to say we’d like to chat and they’ve left it unopened for almost a day now
We don’t look normally but it does make you wonder now I’ve seen it unread.
The other two are just ‘thanks, but no thanks’ messages anyway.
