who can eat huge meals in one sitting.
I long to pay my £20 and gorge on an all you can eat boofay, or load my plate up at an all inclusive holiday dining room.
Instead, I eat my child's portion and try to stuff in a dessert, to get my money's worth.
What do you envy people for?

My sister loves dessert so I leave some of my main meal to fit some in. Or we do some shopping after dinner and then go to a dessert place when I have room for it.

Used to be able to do this, but it didn't do me well, so now I'll have this kids portion for the rest of my life (and no dessert).
I'm envious of those who have:
Figured out what they want to be when they grow up/what they're good at and have a job which they enjoy (or at least don't hate most days);
Figured out which exercise they can get along with and manage to keep doing it;
Figured out how to temper their responses both orally and facially

I don’t envy them, but I think the natural tendency to effortlessly get important things done early is just a great behaviour.
They are just lucky.
My youngest daughter always did her homework at the table immediately on returning from school for about an hour. I never had to ask her to do it once, She just wanted to get it done quickly and then enjoy the evening knowing it’s done. From age 5 to 18 consistently. I wish I was more like her |
