What's the time limit on how long you can use a face pic for in the years after it was taken, before it counts as false advertising?

Can’t really put a time limit on it to be honest, but if it doesn’t look like you, you shouldn’t be using it

We once met up with a guy who was really my type we swapped pics and vids chatted and took the plunge to go to his when we got to his he was at least 20’years older than the pictures this is why we always meet socially first as you don’t know how dodgy some of these profiles are

Carlisle usually

Facially there's only a small scar and a few crows feet between a picture of me at 16 and a picture of me now.

But the difference between me now and me two to three years ago is a lot more noticeable.

If someone sends a picture that looks nothing like the person when I meet them, it's an instant no from me anyway. So it's a pointless endeavour

These days I find filters more of a concern than old pictures.

under the sun & the moon

This profile photo I'd say is 2 years old or so.

I have some very recent face photos in the friends only album.

The only difference is I have a longer beard these days.

People I haven't seen for a decade or more, tell me I look the same when I meet them (which is nice I guess)..

"These days I find filters more of a concern than old pictures."

This is true. There are so many and they are so obvious. Especially on faces.

You don't notice the subtle changes to your own features but people who haven't seen you for a while or who are expecting the two/three years ago version to turn up, do.

I've seen so many 'and they'd obviously sent old face pictures ' posts. I never want to be the subject of one

..

Honestly I've come to expect that many women don't look like their photos between old photos, filters and good angles.

I have to say it doesn't bother me at all because I honestly feel like people mostly do this for themselves.

On fab we have to bare all and put ourselves out there and that's actually a lot.

How much difference from photos to actual person are you prepared to accept?

We had a guy turn up once whose photo must have been twenty years old. His hair had gone from very dark brown to grey.

Fair enough that's an extreme example and it would be too much for me.

I have been surprised many times when meeting people. So much so that I expect it now and just wait until I meet a person to form my impression.

We’ve recently had interest from a couple who ‘enjoy regular fun’ but the photos were 10 years old as was their one verification.

Any pics we send privately are recently done. We’d rather people saw what was on offer than a filtered illusion.

I’ve had 2 massive filtered/old pictures upon meeting for a social.

I now go down the video call route.

I’m assured that my photos are accurate

Yes we do that too. Obviously we don't turn up to the local coffee shop dressed as we are in our photos but amazingly people rarely ask to see our faces before we meet

I've never had a one to one meet where the woman didn't look exactly like her pics.

I've met people at group socials though that I've never spoken to before and only know them through the forums but I never would have picked them out of a line up.

They didn't look anything like their fab profiles at all.

When they look in the mirror and the face in the pic, is not what is reflected in the mirror.

A year or 2 I’d say - anyone sending pre-Covid pics of face and/or body always make me laugh when they say they haven’t changed

Everyone changed over Covid…

Sorry, but to be honest about how you look it really should be recent pics only. Who cares what someone looked like 10 years ago?!
