In Toms area the council have poured an unknown amount of money into cycle lanes that on the face of it are hardly ever used. They are bright orange and separated from the road by stick like bollards every 10 feet or so. Imagine Tom's surprise to see a cyclist using the road instead of he cycle path riding with body languague that cocks a snoot at the rules holding up the traffic. Toms blood was boiling at the arrogance. But wait. Why was this upstart using the road instead of the cycle path. Only months old the cycle path was coated in debris and grit and glass etc. and with the bollards there is no way to sweep them. Whats going on here guys? |
