"In words or deeds?
We're not a family who says it often but we demonstrate it constantly through our actions. "
In words
It’s nice to hear it being said out loud sometimes. Not that showing it through your actions is any less important. |

I last said it to my kid when I dropped them at school this morning - their reply was "tsk mum, don't SAY that!"
Last time someone said it to me was the same kid last night snuggled up having a cuddle at home |

It was my daughter telling me that prompted the thread. When I asked her how much? She said “100 dollars”. Kids are great |

Hmmmm.... As a family we have never been that demonstrative - I can't remember any time my parents told us they loved us kids, and it's only in recent years we've even started hugging
And I've been single so long now that I can't remember the last time anyone told me they love me.
Or maybe I'm just totally unlovable.... |

I told a friend I loved them a week or so ago.
I tell my daughters quite often
I can't remember the last time someone said it to me.... Uhmmmmm
Oh ... I get false ' I love you's ' from colleagues but I never count those.
I guess my daughters are the only people who ever say they love me. They do it often enough and it's genuine. |

I had this. Can totally relate.
In Spanish we have “te quiero” and “te amo”, this last one is the real, strong stuff - the love that moves mountains and writes poetry. but it was never used in my family so I am unable to say it. I feel super uncomfortable saying it and I don’t think I ever have.
But I also struggle with “love” being an all-purpose word haha. From saying “I love dark chocolate digestives” to “I love you very much even though I know we will bever be together”. |

Last time I told someone I love them … I think it was a cocktail waitress after she had recommended and brought me an absolute masterpiece of a cocktail |

You know those weirdo people who want to make sure people know they are loved? That have a need to tell those they care about on a frequent basis that they love and appreciate them, just in case the worst happens?
Thats me.
So about 5 mins ago to one of the kids, about 3 mims ago to my bestie who feels sick and about 1 min ago to my mum who asked how I was doing in a text
Basically all the time.

. Apart from my children, I’ve never told anyone I loved them, I’ve never been in love & I don’t think I ever will be "
This saddens me we all deserve to feel Love ?? |

I’m not one for constantly telling people I love them and turning it into a standard getting like hello and goodbye. I find that very American … loses all meaning if you say it all the time.
I’m far more likely to show people that I love them by doing something thoughtful for them. |

Neither am I but sometime you find an exception to the rule.
And you just can help your self it has to be said . |

This is so me too!
I’m not a physically affectionate person so I think I go overboard on letting them know I really love them. But can you stay as far back as possible so I can shout it at you. Thanks |

I tell my kids every night before bed, and they tell me back. I text my parents it as well each night.
In a relationship ship way the last time was just over eleven years ago. It was the last thing my husband and I said to each. He passed away four days later.
‘Love is wonderful, you miss it when you don’t have it’ |

It was a few years ago, with my ex wife.
I told her, she never was able to say it back funnily enough, even though I know she did love me. Not everyone is able to talk about their feelings in such an open manner.

"Last year I told someone I loved them.
It’s been a very very long time since someone told me.
Even my kids are at that age where they stop saying it.
Hugs x"

I’m really sorry to read that I’m glad you both had the opportunity to tell each other one last time |

On Saturday for both, at the end of a video call with himself.
I'm aware that it's not the general consensus, but I don't like to say or hear it too often. It dilutes it's meaning, turns it into a habit rather than a declaration of feelings. |
