It would take very little to really disrupt society now.
Disrupt imports, logistics and other tech. Jobs a good un. Of course, all UK systems are secure |

It might be that these companies use the same POS or inventory systems that's preventing orders from being fulfilled, although it would be strange if they all did use the same one |

POS always struck me as an unfortunate acronym |

We also wondered that but there's no drama to be had there |

Now it’s apparently Greggs that are having the payment issues…
First they came for your burgers…
Then they came for your shopping…
Now they are coming for your sausage rolls.. it’s war!!! |

I see that the ATMs were emptied quickly as the card machines in store weren't working. In this push to a cashless society, we would have all been baggered. |

It's a big problem I always pay cash but on two recent visits to greggs I handed over cash and the young uns had to check with another staff member that it was correct I don't think they new the value of coins, had to wait 5 mins for manager to come back in from fag break she gave me a free sausage roll, it wasn't really all that nice lol. |

Perhaps those adamant that we should be cashless society can think again. Though for me is not just about technical issues but choice, respect for those who can't or don't want to use cards and even little traditions like tipping or giving something to a busker on the street or giving some money to your child to put in a charity box. And no I don't want to use a card for those things whether they have a machine or not. I now pay cash whenever I can and so do most of my friends and people I know who reverted to that. If we don't then we will be walking outselves into it. I believe that we are the only country in Europe that cash payments have dropped below 50% with some countries like Austria or Germany cash payments still holding at well over 70%. I don't want a cashless society, that's for sure. |
