Some of you might have read of our previous experiences when trying to find/order a spanking bench which wasn’t going to break the bank. It’s been a real education, and it can’t be stressed to make sure you use a payment method which guards against fraud. In short, we were scammed by sellers on both Eb*y and *tsy, where grifters operate out of a number of different countries. The first attempt found someone in Eastern Europe claiming to be a company specialising in bondage furniture, but a couple of days after supposedly sending the item, their account was shut down and *tsy issued a refund, as the seller had pulled the same stunt with about 30 other customers.
The Eb*y one was a farce. The seller (located in India) claimed it was sent, but gave us a dummy tracking number. After a week with all attempts at communication ignored, we opened a case against him, which resulted in an angry message from the seller claiming that there had been a mix-up with the courier, and that if we closed the case with Eb*y, he would THEN send it! Even though he claimed it was in transit, and knowing damn well that closing the case meant the end of all rights/claims to getting the money back! His profile mysteriously disappeared after we kept the case open. Money refunded.
At this point after the long, boring slog above, comes some positive news. We found another seller, who has been trading for years, and has sold hundreds of spanking benches, with extensive feedback to verify him. Ordered it on Sunday, got DHL shipping notification on Tuesday! The price is much cheaper than it would ever be to by an equivalent in most places in the world, let alone the UK, even if other customers said that they had to pay import duty on it.
Pretty confident it’s going to turn up, and won’t find a gift-wrapped cat inside when we open the box. When it arrives, we’ll give you a full review of it. With things as expensive as they are in the fetish scene, especially with things they way they’ve been in the last few years, any chance to save money on something you love is a welcome one. |
