So I don't think it's a secret that I'm a big football fan but I love sports in general and with supporting teams or sportsmen the highest highs can come the the lowest lows which adds to the beauty and emotion of it all.
So are there any moments you can remember where who you supported were on the right/wrong side of history? |

Most definitely. Must be tedious following some teams who just limp on year after year. Good or bad it's certainly a roller coaster |

Well as an England football fan, they didn't cover themselves in glory when they gave a nazi salute when playing Germany in the 30s
Conclusively on the wrong side of history haha
As a rugby fan, the lions tours to South Africa in 74 and 80 are also a bit shameful when other sports like cricket had boycotted them |

Too Numerous to mention
As LFC fan few times we lost in champions league finals
Think the worst one was FA Cup final in 1977 at the old Wembley getting beat 2-1 by Man Utd was there always worse lol
Stuart Pearson scored then jimmy case scored for LFC then Lou Macaris shot that went in off jimmy greenhoff

When Tranmere beat Southampton 4-3 in the FA Cup after being 3-0 down at half time.
When we beat Bolton in the semis of the Worthington Cup.
When we beat Everton at Everton (St. Yates' Day). |

Having supported Everton for 32 years I’ve rarely been on the right side. I don’t remember the ‘95 FA Cup win so I’m not counting that. Losing the 2009 final was tough to take, really thought that was our year  |

1986 World Cup Argentina v England I was 18 years old.I had £100 at the start of the competition on Argentina to win at 3/1.So when Diego Maradona scores the first goal with his hand I am jumping up and down celebrating.It was after watching it again I realised it should not have been allowed.Put it this way if VAR was in play in would not have been allowed |

VAR would say there was reasonable doubt as to whether it was or wasn't natural movement of the arm and stick to the onfield decision  |

I was a kid when we lost the league to Arsenal in pretty much the final kick of the 1989 season!
Winning the Champions League final in 2005 after being 3-0 down against the mighty AC Milan has to be up there with drama.
As well as our 4-0 semi final 2nd leg game vs Barca, after losing 3-0 first leg!

I grew up supporting Chelsea. So yeah.
And I don’t support them any more because there’s only so many times you can go to a home game and go on Twitter afterwards and hear about certain behaviour. Or read online about cover ups of racism. The PSG incident on the train was the start of the end for me. |

I interpreted it (or alternatively interpreted it) as like someone could have been on the "wrong" side of the border at the partition of India or someone subject to historic (or current) discrimination. But that's not what was meant  |

Right side of history = June 7th 2023, Europa Conference League Final. 35k+ Hammers in Prague, sat right behind the goal we scored both goals in, as we won our first cup in 43 years.
Wrong side of history = Feb 27th 1995, Lansdowne Road. Dublin was no place for the faint-hearted that night. |

I am a massive fan of cycling in particular the tour de France,also I used to be a triathlete so when Lance Armstrong burst onto the scene an ex triathlete,cancer survivor like many people I want all in Team Lance,livestrong band's,USPS kit,Trek madone bike the whole shabang.
When the doping allegations started I was first in the cycling club defending him and was willing to go toe to toe to defend his honour.
So when the news broke and the shit hit the fan it felt like a family member had betrayed me/us the cycling community fans as a whole.
It's one day your worshiping this God like character who has been proven clean time and time again,gone up against the best beating the dopers,beacon of virtue and hope for all clean athletes that hard work and dedication can pay off whilst staying clean, then BOOM your on the other side of the coin he's nothing but a liar and cheat in fact the biggest cheater of them all two sides same coin.
A history maker and record breaker,then a history maker and lying cheat.
