Two horses have died on the first day of the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival.
Should these race horses be bred to be more robust rather than bred purely for speed. What's going on here guys. It's all over the news |

"Why do they have to race on horses if it's only about gambling. Why not camels or pigs ?"
In Finland there's a "wife carrying" championship. Like a piggyback race kinda thing, where the husband carries their wife. Prob the most ethical way to go. |

"
If two athletes died on the first day of the Olympics, what would happen......
The Munich Olympics continued "
Not the most useful comparison.....
A terrorist attack and an activity that is proven to continually stress and injure horses to the point that it causes death or requires them to be put down

It won't work here.. it's not that the women are larger over here, it's because English men have puny legs ... |

Too much money in horse racing; not just through betting, but the hospitality industy in towns where you have race meetings is a life line.
Theres also not a hope in hell that you could ban horse racing worldwide, the betting that goes on at the Macau and Hong Kong race meets is frightening

" they are dead surely you can't breed a dead horse
You could extract its semen
The saying is "flogging a dead horse", not wanking one.
Now he tells me "
If you wanked it to death, it would be the ultimate happy ending, a bit like micheal hutchense. |

Horse racing has always had it’s risks especially National Hunt racing which is what the Cheltenham Festival that is going on at the moment is .The bigger picture is if it is banned what happens to all the horse racing trainers and the stable hands , grooms , stable jockeys they employ to look after and train the horses. In some of these area’s where there is horse racing you may find that the race track and nearby stables are the only employers. It’s easy to say let them find another job but if they can’t then what go and claim Universal Credit and be a burden on the tax payer.I don’t believe you can ban it despite what some of these protesters want but they are entitled to protest it is their right. |

Horse racing is a disgusting sport just using Horses as money making machines . And yes we have a rescued ex racehorse and her body bears the scars of the cruelty she endured . |

Horse Racing is great, no horse wants to be imprisoned in a paddock for bleeding hearts to feed & groom until ot goes to the great glue factory in the sky.
Horses are pack animals & love running hence why the sport developed. |

"As ever, its about money.
I worked within the racing industry, in my youth and the horses are a commodity.
I don't agree with it.
It needs to be banned."
Yep. Along with all the other ways we inflict pointless cruelty on other living beings, just because they can't tell us how they feel or fight back, for money/ sport. Sadly, I doubt it will end any time soon. The difference with the Olympics or TT is that the person dying chose to be there & put themselves at risk. I think wild horses are an example of what a horse would want - body autonomy to run or not when they feel like it, be in a healthy herd & exist for themselves. |

Exactly this. The amount of idiots i have say the bike racers get killed is hilarious. Yes, but they choose to do it, sign disclsimers etc etc. Also, with regards to eating meat. These animals arent tortured with daily routines of training, with mouth bits, tongue ties, being ridden past what they want, and left in agony with broken bones for ages till finally and brutally put down |

It’s a minute amount of people compared to the number currently on benefits.
I’m sure they’d be fine. |

Itd be no different to when other industries close, such as pits, steel works etc. Folk go out and get other jobs. Lots of people have had to retrain into other careers over the years, so theyd be fine |
