Where would you go? Even if it’s fab ralated.
Have you done road trips which were your favourite and would you do them again or at least recommend them?
But my question is, where is your fantasy road trip, and why? |

"I want to do the entire Canadian and American west coast. Ideally in a bitchin ride during the summer."
Holy shit. That would be amazing.
I was writing down the coast in California I think it’s called Route 1 and a fucking big bridge was closed on the coast, and I had a three hour diversion
So sadly, that coach tried that I was really looking forward to was interrupted. |

"I fancy wales.. I love hills and castles and dragons. Onto Ireland and road trip around the emerald Isle"
So when I’m doing my Britain Road trip, I am starting to plan it, I’m trying to get over to Ireland hopefully, because I’ve never visited it. |

I already bagged myself one of those but I wouldn’t mind bringing a few more home |

NORWAY Wherever I lay my hat |
I love a road trip. Have driven across France to the Alps, Cote d'Azur and on to Italy and Spain before. Bussed it round SE Asia and Mexico.
But my dream is to motorbike from Mexico down through Central America and the west of South America to Patagonia. |

A road trip, but done on the train for me, Im a bit miffed about driving as I have to do it everywhere. So long, long train journeys I would love, especially over in Europe (and beyond) as the trains have further to go before falling into the sea. I loved watching Michael Palin's Great Train Journey. |

"I’m half Scottish and have only been to Edinburgh and Glasgow, so it would be around Scotland. It looks so so beautiful! "
I went up to Aberdeen near Balmoral. Damn you can see why they build a big castle up there. It was gorgeous. |

If you do it the whole way it is big trip. I have done San Diego to beyond the Brooks Range (ie Alaskan arctic circle) in a single trip - it is a loooong way and there are a lottttt of trees once you get north of Vancouver. Vancouver seems a long way from San Diego but it is only a third of the way to the arctic! |

I agree, there's something about a long train trip (digressing from the road trip theme). Years ago I went from Oslo up through Norway into the arctic circle, back down to Trondheim and then across to Helsinki from there.
Beautiful trip. |

I've been rather fortunate and had some fantastic road trips - the Scottish Highlands, Italy in a July with a gf and Geneva to Evian with my fiancé will always be fond memories.
I'm going to be doing one later in the year and I really can't wait - solo tripping to Verona and a friend is being a "tour guide" for the Dolomites leg of the trip. Can not wait for those beautiful sunset road trips. |

Basically yes. I did stop to climb a few mountains but it was a single trip. It was actually part of a much bigger trip - before that I had basically driven up the Andes from the very bottom to where the Pan American stops at the Darien Gap. Stopped to climb a few mountains in the Andes as well |

I've done a few but one of my best was West Coast USA up the coast through Canada then along the coast to Alaska and up through it. On the way back took a boat through the Inside Passage past Canada crossing the border to the US.
That or China from East Coast to Kashgar in the West.
Would love to do Colombia to Patagonia. |

I love a good road trip.
East and West Coast of Australia was amazing, up and down Croatia was incredible and the west coast of Scotland was stunning.
I'd love to see more of Italy and South America is on my bucket list. |

West Coast Oz yes!! The marine mega fauna is amazing. Didn't rate East coast much bc it was full to the brim of 18 year old backpackers on a 'gap yar'. I'm probably just bitter I wasn't one of them though |

The marine life was incredible on the West. I was about 25 so was still hip enough to mingle with the youths |

Did a similar 2 years ago. France, lux, black forest down to monte carlo and southern route back up to France.
Bike never missed a beat and took it up to stupid speeds on the Autobahn (160mph +)
Amazing roads, amazing people and amazing scenery. |

France in summer with kids going to a part we’ve not been. Probably 15th time driving over there.
Autoroutes and everything past the tunnel usually okay, it’s driving to the tunnel and the fecking managed motorways in England. |

It was either 23 or 26 states of the US, didn't get up to Yosemite national park but got a good few sights in. Same with Aus, did a full N,S,E,W tour, some beautiful spots out there. I'd like to see some of Scandinavia, it looks beautifully scenic |

On my ST1100 bike.
Would do it again tomorrow if finances allowed |

I drove the Pacific Coast Highway, from Seattle down to Los Angeles. If ever I feel ready for international travel again, if America ever becomes welcoming for trans women again, I would love to repeat the journey.
Instead I might just go for the Scottish coast road once more... |

I have driven from Vancouver to Southern California. Didn’t go north of Vancouver though.
On the east coast, went from Boston to Orlando. |

"And I'd recommend the length and breath of New Zealand. "
… particularly the South Island, more sparsely populated and roads are less busy.
Beware, there no leeway / buffer zone when it comes to speeding. I once got done for being 2kmph over the limit, which wouldn’t happen here |

I once travelled from the UK to Myanmar/ burma without getting a single plane,
I got around most of Europe by car, until it broke down in Estonia, sold the car to the tow truck driver and then finished the rest of the trip using trains, hitchhiking, back of lorries, on top of lorries and even a camel.
It took just over a year, and it was bloody amazing
If I had enough funds I would never stop travelling. |

"Not so much a road trip, but a Pilgramage. To the Isle of Man, for the TT races.
Me too! I have been but I was really young so I barely remember it."
I was taken to the pier head ferry port every year as a kid, I finally got to go in 99. Once is never enough. |
