What does an orange light on a plug mean please?

We’ve recently had an electric towel rail fitted, it was connected to another socket in the adjoining room & had a switch fitted which had an orange light that came on & think was on permanently.
The orange light is no longer coming on but the towel rail still works, so what was does the orange light on the plug mean? Thanks. |

normally if its the light on the fused socket that controls the heated towel rail it would just mean its on  |
