Oh well, monologues are uderrated.Anyway, today was a bit of a strange day really. I was meant to have two appointments and was all set up for those and then they were cancelled. So I just decided to get on with jobs at home. I managed to clean the oven and put all the easter decorations out. Just before dinner I looked for some holidays and booked a short break to Liverpool and one to Dutham. I was not sure about a holiday abroad though and still considering two options, Fuerteventura or Rhodes for late April. I am off to get myself a drink now and see if anyone else joins in the chat when I get back.

Still nobody chatting I see? Well it is another monologue I am afraid. So I was thinking that I must start preparing tp redecorate after a few jobs are done in the house fist. Not really sure whether to go with a single light colour everywhere, which could be boring, or pick different colours for each room. Not keen on dark colours though unless it is a dinning room as dark colours can create a better anbience for dinner. I have to get some sample colours I think and try them out

I was just habing a look at all the threads and I am thinking that it is not really that long ago I would't say very much in the forums and had no pics on profile. This place does give you confidence after a while to just be yourself. I do post on threads I would never have done before. And the recent 'game' threads ( not my categorisation) wereots of fun and spoke to people that I probably would not have done otherwise. Still not sure about some people on here but the majority are a good laugh. Some I would say have become online friends for now too.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

MB you're such a delight. I'm enjoying your monologue and I'm sorry to butt into it... but I had to say that.

When I decorated I went for a single, quite neutral colour throughout with different colours as accents in each room. I like it.

Hi MB, lovely idea for a thread.

Work is good, but stressful. My OH isn't doing so well at the moment, but it will pass.

I'm an eternal optimist, so I'm sure everything will be ok!

Hello

We had quite a good day. Nipped in to town and had coffee in a place we haven't been before. It was a bit disappointing but they gave us two biscuits each .

I don't have more than the usual worries really.

Oh no problem. Wholst the monologue has been fine, a dialogue or a polylogue is very welcome too. Thanks for the advice re accents, good idea.

Soinds brilliant. Happy to receive recipes. A nice guy the other day from one of my threads sent me this amazing recipe for a proper italian tiramisu. I can make a nice one myself but this was something else. Especially the selection of ingedients that make the difference

That sounds great. Portugal is one of my favourite destinations. Greece is another. I like the food and people as well as the scenery, sun, sea etc. I think I will go to Portugal in October. Now is between Rhodes and Fuerteventura for possibly late April. I booked a couple of days in Liverpool and Durham too. I might venture over to Edinburgh also as not been for a while. You used to get lovely places for not so much. These days though prices have gone over the roof.

Anyway, on another subject, how good are you controlling what you eat. I used to be so good at eating healthy stuff whilst not depriving myself of anything really. Never had a weight problem or anything like that. Recent times, and possibly eating for confort, I am overdoing a bit the chocolates, biscuits and other sweets. A bit strange as I could take it or leave it all in the past. I think working from home most of the time also has a lot to do with that. Quite easy to grab something that you would normally not have in the office. I have not put much weight on but as you get older you want to avoid any excess at all. I am definately going to look at doing better at that and go back to healthier habits

Well as you can see it was mostly a serious of monologues and the odd dialogue interjection. But as it is a chat, happy to discuss that subject too. My preference is for light citrus aromas in the summer or a strong and moody patsouli in the winter months.

I have essential oil diffusers. Mostly because my kitchen and bathroom don't have windows and... smells happen. I use lemon most of the time, but also like bitter orange. I've got a margarita fragrance oil going at the moment.

I'd describe it as smelling like lime, but much sweeter, with a bit of a salty twist.

Brand is Nikura. I got it for cheap in the post Christmas sale, along with other fragrances (red apple, strawberry and rhubarb, and mango fizz) that weren't fully Christmas theme.

I do use them, but lemon and orange are my go-to

Not as a bright or sunny day today as recently but at least is not raining. Carrying on sorting stuff at the house today before going out this afternoon. It's time to sort out the wardrobes. Every time I do it Onam amazing how much stuff accumulate. I have a few charity bags to hand for that. I aldo have a few bits to put on ebay, I hate doong the descriptions. You have to br so accurate with everything. I once described a pair of sunglasses as unisex and someone messaged to say it wss misdescribed as there is no way he would wear thosevas a man.

Well, quite a busy but enjoyable afernoon out, then over to the garage to see to a problem with the lights. Not really sure what it was but got sorted. I like cars for their lookvyou see, not what they do Back home then, no inclination to cook so banged a lasagne from the freezer in the oven. I batch cook so that was homemade. I actually love reheated pasta anyway. Lots still to do but decided to just chill the rest of the evening in your company instead and make the odd family phone call. Oh and an old friend I have not seen for many years, in fact over 20 years, has just called and are in the area this weekend so having a nice lunch and 20 years catch up on Saturday. I am looking forward to that. Back in a bit

"How is everyone this eve. I just grabbed a glass of wine and sat down and chill a little before bed time. A bit of Loreena McKennitt in the background and some good company on here. Share what you are doing if you like

Enjoy your evening.

I found the journal

I never commit that sort of stuff to paper

Good morning everyone. Another dull day weather wise but lets not let it stop us from making it the start of a great weekend. A lot of catching up with paperwork, bills, emails etc today. A bit boring but off for afternoon tea later on and a good chat with a friend , so that will ne nice. I am also looking forward to lunch tomorrow with my friend I have not seen for over 20 years as I mentioned yesterday. The rest of the weekend will be taken up by sorting out stuff at home, trying to get hold of tradesmen (no, not for a bit of role play ). Just still strugfling finding a blooming good plumber and bathroom fitter. The garden started to look like it needs some attention too, so will be looking for a gardener to give it a good spring look. Not as difficult to get your hands on (metaphorically speaking, of course) as a plumber hopefully. Anyway, what are you up to? Bavk in a mo, off to grab a coffee and a crumpet.

Morning MB.

We know an excellent plumber, he installed a bathroom for us and a cloakroom. It might be a bit far for him to travel up to you.

It's sunny here and we've got five fruit trees to put in the ground later and work to do on the infamous rockery

"What is everyone else doing today. I don't mind a monologue as you can see but nice to know about you too.

I'm filling up my whiteboard with stuff I'm trying to convince myself isn't nonsense

Colour coded, or sorted by a notional timeline?

Headlines and arrows. Big mess "

If it works for you, it works.

Catching up with all of you. I hope you are having a great day. I was out early this morning for a dpot of shopping. Treated myself to a nice new jacket and couple of shirts, not that I needed more really but impulsive purchase. Then met my friend for lunch. Had not seen each other for over 20 years but the amazing thing was it felt like it was yesterday. This is what happens when there is connection there. Had so much to catch up with. It was wonderful and planned to meet again soon. Then back home having a coffee and chatting to you wonderful people. How was your day so far

Repainting the skirting boards and doors in the flat. Bit at a time. I've got no outside space, so the bathroom is where all the terrible stinky cleaning up happens. It'll be worth it

I feel for you. Take your time. I have lots of stuff like that going on here at the mo. Can be overwhelming if all done at the same time

Oh I think they'll make the biggest difference. But as someone with no outside space to clean up in, the stench is horrendous.
