Loved it and hated leaving it when I left my husband - wanted to buy it back when he emigrated with the 2nd Mrs Caz, but I couldn't sell mine at the time - c'est la vie - happy enough in my place anyway |

Our home is very special to us and its where our little one has lived her first 3 years too. However, the flat up 70 steps that we spent ten years in was magic too.
I get a bit annoyed with the rent/own thing. Both places are rentals and we love them just the same; its our home after all. We aren't scumbags, so there aren't any old Ford Cortinas in the driveway on bricks; we treat it and love it as if it were ours.
If you've been able to buy then that is great, well done. But we have not been able to. So we make the best of what we have. |

Bought a lovely new build 3 bed house after coming into a few ££, shame about the pain in the ass foreign neighbours who have just moved in few doors down. |

The first place I bought was a flat, part of a converted Victorian villa, in Wimbledon. It had a 150ft garden that I never did get under control. The place needed lots of work when I bought it. Cost 32k in 1993. Looking on Zoopla, the last time it was sold it was for £300k... gutted.com |

Was meant to be a stepping stone, but we bought at the peak of the market in 1989 and within 3 years it was no longer a 'stepping stone', but a millstone and worth about a third less than the mortgage on it. And 'love' is not a word usually associated with Laings 2 bed timber-framed 'starter homes'!! |

I've never owned my own house. And I never will. |
