Thus generation's LotR if they commission a 3rd on (which they will as who doesn't like money).

Saw it at the weekend but went to Cineworld and was gotten the 4Dx which the shaking seats etc.

Found it too gimmicky and off putting to be honest apart from the big Sandworm riding scenes.

Plan to go see it again bit in a normal IMAX screen.

Watched it on IMAX and loved it! Great visuals and music. They changed many plot points from the book and all in a good way.

Revisited the first one, and watched the David Lynch version as well as it was on last week.

I enjoyed part one, so looking forward to see pt2.

So they are making a third?

Denis Villeneuve was green lit to undertake an adaption of Dune over 2 parts, a trilogy was never planned. However he has said he was open to and has laid some groundwork to making a Thurs move based on the sequel Dune Messiah but it has not yet publicly been announced (but again who in Hollywood doesn't like stupid amounts of money so it's almost guaranteed)

Unfortunately this means we are more than a good few years away from getting it unlike LotR which had the second and third movies filled simultaneously (or at least overlapping) so the release dates could be just about a year apart.

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I read the books as a youngster and enjoyed them. I haven’t seen the latest films but I thought I’d read the books again. Sadly they weren’t as good as I’d remembered them.

I hope had cinematic experience is going to be better.

Gbat.

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't realise that Dune is a series of books I thought it was only one book, if they do make a third I would watch it.

There are 6 books written by Frank Herbert and then his son wrote numerous books. Having said that, they changed many things in the film. I personally found the ending of the Dune book to be disappointing. They did well to change that in the movie. If they are taking a third film, I expect it to diverge even further from the book.

That is how I found it on my first watch, on my second watch I realised that there is a story within this film so I found it a good watch second time round as I understood it.

Not saying you didn't in anyway.

I watched it. I loved dune part 1. I didn’t really enjoy part 2, it was pretty messy and rushed in terms of story.

Part 1 felt like art, and part 2 felt like a standard action film. The script was really bad too, a lot of people explaining the story “the people in the south are fundamentalists, they’re bad” type of thing

I find it a bit ironic that (spoilers) the Padishah Emperor was portrayed by Christopher Walken and was defeated by someone's using The Voice (as it was their Weapon of Choice) & who knew to "Walk Without Rhythm, so you don't attract the Worm" and multiple times told "you'll never learn".

Fat boy Slim if it needs spelling out

Just watched this, this afternoon in a HUGE screen with speakers everywhere (ScreenX) and damn it was immersive. Great film, highly recommended.

Seems you have more to say about the screen and speakers rather than the film?

I rewatched the first one and appreciated the cinematography and the music more than I did the first time around.

Beds (or anywhere beginning with B..!?)

Part II was better even though missing Aquaman ...

Set up nicely for a part III

...will they ever think about putting in intervals when films are longer than 2+ hours though?

I swear it felt like a constant stream of people going in and out after about the first hour...
