All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

Have you recently learned, or are in the process of learning a new skill?

Just did my first sewing job repairing a pocket of one of my trousers. Chuffed I didn't stab myself once

Next Door

When I was in primary school I was taught how to crochet and macrame and have never done it again until last month. I started practicing and now starting to make a few things.

Really enjoying it.

Did you use a stapler?

My mother is an expert at that. It always came across as something very methodical, bordering on tedious

Haven't done sewing properly since school but went back to it recently and making things. Quite therapeutic. Also haven't stabbed myself yet.

I didn't think of that!

I prefer living on the edge of stabbing myself

I’ve learnt how to go a whole fortnight on the forums without getting a ban, does that count as a new skill.

I'm on day 131 of learning Italian through Duolingo. I can tell you that you need to have clean tablecloths and sweep the floors for tonight's date, and that the insects are dead... jeez that program has some odd lessons!!!

I find it amazing when people decide enough is enough and take it upon themselves to learn something new.

I started teaching myself guitar (with the help of an app of course) a few years ago and I get properly chuffed with myself when I do something I couldn't do a month ago for example..

Bettering yourself is such a fantastic thing to want to do. Regardless of how small..

Starting to seriously look at getting some chickens now too, so that will be another new skill I suppose..... That and keeping the dog away from them.

Anybody that's took it upon themselves learn something new deserves a huge pat on the back..

I've been learning guitar for years and frankly I'm thinking about chucking it in - good on ya for actually getting decent

Who said I was decent?

But I do really enjoy it, the massive increase in finger dexterity is an additional bonus..

I'm sure you're doing great on it mate, don't give it in or you'll wish you kept at it.

Honestly, I just don't even pick em up any more, and haven't gotten much better since I was a lad. Never mind, there's other hobbies.

Paper Town Central, Essex.

Learning Luther skills currently.

I figured as I play the things, I'd better learn to repair the damn things too.

Buy a knackered stringed instrument, repair and then sell it.

Always make a profit and learn a new skill to boot.

Nothing practical like that , tailors are so cheap here

I was on day 42 streak learning Arabic & really enjoying, the calligraphy / aesthetic as well as conversation, but with new job I had to quickly switch to learn Tagalog now

Know exactly what you mean I go through weeks of getting one of mine out every day then don’t pick one up for months. Never gonna be the next Jimi Hendrix. Have contemplated selling them off many times.
