In my own little world

I've been involved in a search party for the husband of a good friend for a lot of last week and the majority of the weekend. Body turned up on Sunday.

Made me think that if I went missing, who would come and search for me, as most of my friends are swingers which my parents have no idea about.

I sometimes worry about being taking unwell and not being found... and as the years progress, I tell my sister more if I am poorly

Having been involved in several searches, you slowly realise how traumatic they can be.

Once you're emotionally involved its time to be honest and accept you're not the best person to be there.

I'm sure there's people who would genuinely miss you....you'd be surprised how many people care when it counts. Don't sit in silence

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

That is awful. I hope you are coping with the feelings that must surely churn about having been involved in something so traumatic.

You'd be surprised but I think most people would be missed, most of the time.

If I went missing 11 months of the year someone would come looking after a day. One month I am entirely on my own and no-one would be searching as they wouldn't even realise I was missing.

That is really sad to hear and certainly does make you think! I am always in touch with kids, family, partner and friends (and my friends know about the lifestyle) so I guess I would be found quickly. Also, when meeting alone I always give OH the details of where I am and whom I am meeting.

Sad, sad story though - cant have been easy for you, OP.

In my own little world

Apart from my mom who rings me on Saturday mornings, no one would realise. self employed, single, and only my hair dresser I see every six weeks on a regular basis. everyone else would just think I'm working away on a project

This is the most awful news...Condolences to all of you..

I speak to my mum every day by 10am without fail and again at least once throughout the day. she has my best friends numbers etc and I have her neighbours numbers (she lives in Scotland). so either way I/she would know if something was wrong...

Not really a question about how many family/friends you have.....

How many friends would be saying "Have you seen Fallen lately"??...No?.....ah well, sure we will catch up with her soon enough...

Sadly it could happen to anyone...

It does make you think! And that is why safety should be paramount on here! Along with any other site.

My mum would get worried after a week (we normally speak at weekends), would my work? No idea! Hope to never know

In my own little world

Suicide, he was last seen on Monday, as we had that heavy snow, at a post office buying a bottle of whisky, cider, paracetomal, and 2 packets of crisps. It was one of the smaller search parties that found the receipt, called the police as instructed and they found him. He'd been on the phone till that died with the family, with garbled conversation. He was a really good friend who couldn't cope with redundancy. He'd already hidden the fact for 6 months and though eventually it came out and we thought he was fine and had signed up for retraining.
