Using your talents?

What would you say is your special talent and could you put it to good use to earn some pennies?

I've been thinking that as I love cooking and am quite good at it, that I might do private catering for friends who can't cook won't cook.

Like Laine, I like to cook.

However, if I were to do it for money, then it becomes a business, and it would spoil my enjoyment.

That is why I would never work in a professional kitchen again, I'd only cook for private parties. More intimate and direct feedback.

I'd also be more inclined to go that extra little bit if it were for my friends.

I was talented at what I did...

Now I'm talented at what I do....

Any other talents are for the weekends...

A talent indeed, I had to let my ex down gently when he had hung most of our wallpaper in the living room upside down.

I do firebreathing but I don't think I could get paid for it as there are so many others who do this alongside many other talents. It's a pretty cool party trick though.

If I start catering I'll keep you in mind, has to be an added bonus to BBQ's.

On a serious note, yes I have knitting and crochet, made lots of beanie hats and sold them at our local thrift shop.

But also love to make things for gifts for people doing baby blankets at the moment

I used to make and sell jumpers back in the 80's aka the Diana sheep sweaters I worked for the company. Made one a day. Also sold my own sweaters to order. I can hand knit also and cut hair so a few talents to earn money when I needed too.

Have done dressmaking and alterations & repairs for pin money. It always surprises me that not everyone knows how to knit or sew any more.

Ooh, I may employ you, to make me one then.

I have a great Rem Norinco .223 that someone added a synthetic stock to. I really dislike it and fancy a walnut stock with cheek and shoulder adjustments..

in the night garden

I think probably my invisibility power.

It only works when no one is looking at me so I haven't worked out a way to profit by it yet, but there must be something. So far it allows me to steal pens from people's desks at work.

My talents are mostly of the artistic variety, ie drawing pictures, making things, writing poems etc. I'd never try and use them to make money though, as I find the creativity that goes into the things I make is typically inspired by my affections for someone (like making cards and toys for my nephews and nieces) rather than financial gain.
