It's the one day they don't want to see a woman on her knees!
Apparently tradition says that should a man refuse a woman's proposal on Leap Day, he must pay a fine or compensate her with a gift:
a silk gown; a kiss; gloves
Which would you choose? Have you heard of any others... |
