As many if you know I'm a huge fan of Alfa Romeo. Currently my main car is a 156 JTS but when I take the dog out or go shooting I have a Renault Megane (which I actually hate!).
So I'm thinking of getting rid of the Renault and getting another Alfa. The 156 will then take over the dog/shooting duties.
I've decided that I want a Brera. I was dead set on a 3.2 Q4 SV. Then I saw the Brera S and started to get hard on for that model and now, just to complicate matters, I've found the Brera Italia Indipendant!
I'm torn on which to go for. So I ask you lovely people to help me decide...
(yes I'm a nerd...lol) |

"Why dont you just get a real car like everyone else "
Once you've owned an Alfa you'll never want anything else, they have their faults, but when they're working they're stunning... |

"Is it red? lol"
The 3.2 is, with tan leather.
The S is gunmetal with red leather
The Italia Independent is matte black with black.leather (with black 19" wheels) |

"The brera italia is stunning a mate of mine has the 3.2l V6!! Do it I would if I could - everyone should own an alfa at some point of they are a car fiend. My next cars def an Alfa!!"
It's the matte paint and wheels that do it for me with the Italia (only 900 built).
The 3.2 has that stunning Alfa V6 and 4wd
The S was developed with Prodrive (only 500 built)

"Exactly who can resist titanium paintwork lol - do it you know you want to!!!"
I've been mulling it over during the night and decided that I'm going for the Brera 3.2 Q4 SV.
I'm going to uprate the brakes, suspension and exhaust. Fit a set of 19" black wheels and have it sprayed matte black. That way I get the best of all three and end up with a unique car. I've also seen a Lamborghini door conversion kit for it too... |

"I love Alfa's. One day I will buy one, I just worry about reliability"
The modern ones aren't really that bad, just make sure its serviced on time and you check the fluids regularly. Also whenever the cambelt is changed do the water pump at the same time.
Things that are common on all models are upper wishbone bushes, thermostat failure and EGR valves on diesels. Other than that they're good.
Alfa decided to make their diagnostic software available for free too, just download it and buy a cable from eBay and you can diagnose the car with your laptop, saves a fortune and stops garages ripping you off... |

I'm on my fifth and love them all to bits. Other cars just seem dull and boring after owning an Alfa . It does help if you know a reasonably priced mechanic though, hehe xx |

I've found some great independent Alfa specialists, really know their stuff and reasonably priced. |

Still undecided about the Lambo doors though, although it will make car parks easier... |
