Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I've been overqualified for a few - but never underqualified. Couldn't sustain that level of dishonesty.

know loads of people who have done it .. as long as you have qualified people around you to make the big decisions and support you it is fairly straightforward to pull off

When they checked my references they found out I had been called to a different kind of bar

Likewise: especially as my jobs require specialist qualifications and knowledge, wouldn't get past the first sift!

For several months I sustained a job as a plumber in the 70s/80s. The pay wasn't very good but all I had to do was walk in on couples on the act and join in whilst dodgy music played in the background. Never held a spanner but fixed a few boilers

The land of grey peas and bacon

The job I am in now I did not know anything about when I applied and they were aware of that... I just sold the transferable skills I had in the interview...

Bedworth

I had absolutely no experience of working in optics before I got my job but I had the transferable skills.

I also used to work in the recruitment department at head office. My job was to sort through the applications and short list candidates so I knew exactly what to put on my application to guarantee getting an interview

A friend of mine is an area manger for a large multinational. Her exp is from her working at two family businesses. Her level of competence was that she couldn't even send an email nevermind interpret

spreadsheets. She did tell them she had no computing experience which they were happy at. I think they were more happy at her low cut business attire and her 36dd.. Along with her boss who she stopped flirting with at the 6 month, 1 day probation.
