You're very lucky. I think the national average is around 8 minutes from the time you walk in the doctors office to getting a diagnosis and walking out again.

It was just a chat, no diagnosis required, the only thing he did was take my blood pressure. But because of all my illnesses and medication i do go for chats about twice a year

I only go when I have to. Same with dentists. When I had an abscess a couple of yrs ago, my then dentist asked if I was registered with them. I had been since I left school, but as I hadn't had any need to visit in the previous 8 yrs, I was no longer registered

Why do I have to waste both their and my own time and pay a consultancy fee for a check up to tell me that I haven't got toothache

Plus.... Dentists are like mechanics.... They always seem to find something to do....

OMFG

You actually go in to see a real live Doctor in the flesh !!!

That is something of a miracle in my town. The way things work here is:

You try phoning them for hours - no luck

You pop in to try and make an appointment - the receptionist asks you you why you want to see the Dr, and the que of complete strangers standing behind you avidly listen to your reply

Then she says the best she can do is get your GP to call you back. This phone call usually happens while you are in the middle of Tesco or somewhere equally inappropriate, if you don't take the call he won't ring again and you have to start again from scratch.

You tell the Dr your symptoms, he diagnoses you over the phone, you pop back into the surgery later to pick up your prescription.

Perfection

Nicky

your very lucky to have such a nice doctor.

i went to see a doctor once with a problem.

he was so nice and friendly i was in there for half an hour.

he was asking me lots of questions, only when i came out the woman who was waiting to see him was cross because she had to wait so long and she gave me a dirty look.

I've got a great GP - he takes time to listen and when I've had problems with the local hospital he's supported me and argued my cause

In Your Bush

I have only ever been twice in the last 20 years. Once when my arm fell off and the other when I caught Ebola. I felt really pasty for weeks after that.

I'm having more problems with my new GP practice who don't stock my Endo treatment. Its normal for a GP practice to stock and administer the injection but they won't do it. I've given up and rung the hospital to get them to help.

My last practice were fantastic - I miss them a lot.
