my work had this so we all had to join experian. Had no issues so you might be ok |

Change passwords to any online accounts matching the water account. Move DD linked to Water across to another account and keep eye on existing account for any weird activity. |

Happened at my pensions administrator(capita) in may last year.
So far I've been unaffected, however once your data is out there you can't close the door, a friend of mine their details are being used, so far its into 5 figures, they're not out of pocket per se, more hassle dealing with the letters companies etc. |

On a more serious note: OP I think the risk is very low for you personally. As has been suggested above change any passwords and keep an eye on Experian as that will tell you if anyone has tried to make a fraudulent application in your name. I don’t know what is in the Southern data leak but the reality is that your data is probably already out in the wild from some other company or it is already on public lists so you are not really going to be affected.
One thing I will note is that it is likely that the Experian searches will stop being paid for at some point and Experian will try and upsell you a product - there are lots of other systems that look for searches (such as ClearScore) for free and that will also tell you if an application has been made. |
