What is the first restaurant in Britain you remember going to
Jump to: Newest in thread
I remember we went to visit my great aunt and uncle who lived in Cambridgeshire and we went to a pub. It was the first time I'd been to a pub with my parents, and I think I was maybe 6 or 7 years old. The reason I remember it so distinctly was because I had fish and chips and they put out a fish knife for me to use. I was astounded and absolutely enchanted by it. I'd never seen such a thing before. And I don't think I've ever been given one to use in a restaurant ever again! |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
The French restaurant in the village. It was really good, and we went there every couple of weeks until I was 6, my sister was born and she wouldn't sleep through an evening out. |

As a child we occasionally went to a pizza place - not Hut, not Express but cannot remember what it was! You got jacket potato and com slaw if memory proves me right!
My first McDonalds was in Canada at the age of 18 |

"Nutters. We have the chefs menu. And Andrew Nutter served one of the dishes.
And the fish dish is by far one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. "
Have you been to Six but Nico? |

"OMG I don't know. I do remember Little Chefs and always ordering one of those pancakes with cherries and ice-cream. They were the bomb"
•
I think you're reminiscing about "Jubilee Pancakes". I'm certain'ish that's what they were called! |

The first ever restaurant in the UK I remember going to was in early 2000s. It was a hotel restaurant inside a Radisson Blue hotel. There was a wine cellar encased in glass with a lady who danced up and down in some harness contraption grabbing wine bottles that were being ordered. I also remember what I ate that night. |

I answered this last night, I misunderstood the question.
(I thought you meant the first restaurant you think of)
Beefeaters has got to be the very first restaurant I went to, I can’t remember ordering anything, but I’m in a pineapple before that. |
