What’s the worst thing someone can lie about on a fab or dating profile ?
Appreciate all lies are awful but which one really gets you mad
Age, height, figure, likes children but really doesn’t etc
For me it’s got to be single guys pretending to be a couple or a single woman |

"Well if it were a dating site then someone saying they were single when they weren’t would really grind my gears.
I guess lying about age or appearance is this the next miff inducing thing."
The single one is a good one |

That's not lying; that's an outwardly fake profile. I've never come across a single man pretending to be a couple or a single woman. |

Lots and lots of men posing as couples, you can tell from a mile off.
Most I’ve seem is lying about age. I once met someone who said he was 35 when he was closer to 55- which is fine, but why lie when it will be more than obvious when meeting in person?
Today I was sent some photos that really did not match the ones on the profile at all… apparently they were taken a couple of years ago… didn’t carry on chatting haha …
Many lie about height too. |

Dating site - claiming to to seek dating with a view to a relationship when all they really want is a shag.
Photos on Fab or dating profile that are 10 years old.
Claiming to be single/ separated at the start and then I discover they're not..

I think both men & women lie about height….. men round up & women round down.
I met a woman once who said she was 5’10” but was really 6’1”
Why do that? |

Unless you don't care about looks, as some claim, then most of us would be potentially totally wasting our efforts, if we are attracted by a false image. |

There are probably too many body shape / figure descriptors on here and it’s open to personal interpretation. One persons curvy is another’s average. It always amazes me how many women consider themselves curvier or larger overall than they really look. But if I could ditch one thing it’d be the ‘20 yrs younger’ face filters. |

"Definitely to many lie about their age and photoshop their pics . Really don’t see the point ourselves think anyone who does that have a low opinion of themselves "
Not everyone with a low opinion of themselves does that though, I'm living proof! |

Photoshopped photos. Snapchat filters. Incorrectly stating their preferences (I am not thinking of the "Interests" list here). Guys pretending to be a couple. Bi guys posing as a woman offering "glory hole" to straight men. Cookie cutter profiles created repeatedly by the same person. Stating body type as "curvy" when it is beyond "ample" and well into morbidly obese territory. |

Being single when they're attached and on behind their partners back.
Also lying about their intentions is pretty crap, ie they're on a dating site, just after sex, but give the impression they actually want a relationship. |

Lying about their sexuality. Why say you're bi if you are straight. It's absolutely awful to be told afterwards that a woman only played with you because her man wanted to enjoy 2 women together. Stop lying. |

Relationship status by far. Close runner up sending old pics of themselves about 5st lighter than they currently are...this has happened to us a few times, by single guys. It really pisses me off.

Age is one that bugs me, its surprising how many men do it.
I would have thought it would be the women, but men are much more guilty of this on Fab!
I suppose anything to stay in a lower age category to get laid. |

Really, any lies on a profile are bad, and unfair, and wrong.
But for me, lying about your age on your profile (on here particularly) is probably the worst one, as there aren't a whole bunch of filters available, but age is one. So by lying about your age on your profile and being able to get around people's filters, you're directly violating their personal choice.
It shows a total lack of respect for those you're privately interacting with, and that's not the sign of a decent human being.
And regardless of how young (or old) people say you look, or how young (or old) you think you look... there are always giveaways. Even 5 or 6 years can make a massive difference to certain parts of a person, never mind more than that!
(A few days/months out for your peace of mind is different and perfectly acceptable, at least in my mind) |

It is odd isn't it?
I'm older than I'd like to be but, I don't see it as something that needs to be hidden or lied about.
That said, there is a 24 year old in my life currently who I wish didn't know my age because I think she and I would be amazing together but, I suspect if I made a move the 15 year age gap would bother her quite a bit.
Thus, I must keep my feelings buried deep down inside.
Thankfully, I'm used to that! |

A women’s profile when it’s really a man behind it.
Absolutely no intention of meeting when they say they do.
Say they’re single when they are not.
Say they don’t smoke when they do.
….should I go on?
It’s pretty much anything that’s an obvious lie and a way to try to deceive someone. It’s a horrid thing to do, the people at the end of it will fucking despise you when they find out. |

I find lying about their intentions bothers me a lot. Their profile says fuckboi but they're telling me conversation and connection are key. Or they've responded to my preference for a "proper FWB" (I spell out what I'm looking for) but a few messages in - full on fuckboi.
Which is why I can't be arsed trying to meet here. |

Without doubt people who aren’t truthful in their profile about being married or with partner. Just say on your profile and then people can decide or not to talk to you.
But the lie starts as soon as you chat then and that grinds my gears completely. Especially when they act like they are single.
We are also seeing guys who have left and start again and they get in touch with the same pics. ‘I haven’t changed at all’ - of course you haven’t, I still think I look 21 too

Another vote for Snapchat filters.
I get why some people do it. A little blur of the face, fine, we all have wrinkles. But I see pics on here with the face replaced entirely. I don’t mean a little smudge… I mean a grown man with hairy arms suddenly looking like a beautiful woman.
Come on, just be you! |

Photos that are decade's old (yes met a few )
Saying they're looking for a couple when the reality is they're only interested in the female (yup met a few of those).
Claiming they're bi/curious but clearly not or will only receive or give, not both.
Yes the odd single guy hiding behind a couples profile (met one a few months back).
Not really in the profile but claiming they're wanting to meet or talk of great interest in their messages then they vanish for days, weeks or forever (especially when we talk of meeting up). SO MANY OF THOSE !.
The worst ?, all pretty bad and it's getting very tiring.... |

I personally think filtered photos are a bit of a red flag. It always worries me when people do that because I wonder what else they are hiding. |

From observation esp on dating sites both genders lie haha about different things for different reasons:
Men: Height, job, how many baby mothers they have, what car they drive, how many other women they actively talking too/seeing
Women: weight/body type, how many kids they have, job, how many other guys they actively talking too/ seeing.
This is just from my own observation & personal experiences it is what it is lol |
