Bears Awake from Hibernation

Reports that captive bears in English zoos are awakening from their winter hibernation which is pretty much a long sleep in the colder months when food is traditionally scarce. But what to do if one of these buggers escapes and attacks. The poem to remember is...

If it's brown, lay down, it it's black, fight back, if it's white, goodnight.

You will thank Tom later if a Bear escapes near you..

I think you're safe Tom, the bears at your local zoo don't hibernate, so if they'd been planning an escape they'd probably have done so before now.

Bears in captivity really hibernate, and as I don't have any zoos near me think I'm safe lol

I assume that zoos will have the best security, they won't have been left to sleep in a Travelodge.

It's tragic that world leaders are doing too little to cut Carbon emissions and catastrophic global heating though .

What if it’s Paddington….do you just ask him to hold on for five minutes while you nip to Sainsbury’s for bread and marmalade?

I’m always nervous of your stories these days Tom. I remember you talking about Covid in the early days and we were all, come off it. And then….

Maybe the bears have some sort of secret alliance with Sadiq Khan?

"If you are travelling through bear country, you should wear a small bell attached to your rucksack as the gentle tinkling will alert the beasts and they can avoid you."

"You should also carry 'Bear Spray' which is a strong pepper spray to protect yourself if you unexpectedly come across a bear who is going to attack."

"However, should you find piles of fresh bear droppings that contain little bells and smell strongly of pepper, you should leave the area immediately."

What makes you think they're going to escape now but haven't escaped last year during the summer when they were awake?

I’m really quite placid when I wake up, as long as I’ve had a cup of tea, if not, look out
