For companionship or are they feeders or do they see them as a friend or are they just lonely because they don't get on with people or need people?

I actually really like animals, but I won’t buy a pet. I actually talked to someone the other day, who suggested I should get a cat or a dog for someone to talk to.

I bought an Alexa echo dot.

I recently rescued two kittens and I am absolutely delighted with them. Was never really a cat person but I don't have the lifestyle to give a dog the time they need.

I rescued most of mine, they certainly make good companions. They don't judge or talk back... Most of the time! And you've always got something to love on.

I got my dog as he belonged to a family that already had 4 kids and another on way and bloke worked away on the oil Riggs and they realised it wasn’t fair on the dog the lack of time they had for him so rehoused him, only paid a small fee despite him having his papers and was selected out of the others who wanted him as their preferred new home for him which was nice of them

I rescued two pups and to be fair no one will love more or unconditionally. Dog are the lovely people reincarnated. Cats think we are at best vending machines at worst vermin to be tolerated.

I rescued a cat once who _definitely_ had attitude. I think he resented not being feral anymore (apart from the free food, and warm house and all the other stuff he just decided was his). He was a little shit but loved him to bits.

I miss my horses loads. Especially my old boy - honestly the greatest therapist in the world.

Plus he gave kisses all the time. Whereas my big girl was not affectionate at all. She literally viewed me as her maid.

Can't win them all

We have a cat because we like being servants to a sentient being who has no idea of personal space, doesn't differentiate between night and day and likes to leave hair on every surface in the house

I have never purchased a pet, they are all "failed fosters" because I am a home fosterer for a local animal charity. My failure rate has worked out at roughly 10%.

I love their unique personalities and have always had a natural affinity with animals, since I was a small child.

I love the devoted love of a dog, someone who needs me and adores me regardless of how I am feeling. Definitely companionship.

Bought two dogs. Our third dog is the brother of one of the ones we’d already bought, but the family who had him couldn’t cope with him so they were going to get rid. I said we would have him. They give him to me for free.

He’s my dog soul mate. . Him and his sister have such a bond and he’s a big fluffy cuddle monster.

I have 2 cats and I’m so grateful I had them during lock down. They made living alone not feel so alone.
