^ this. There are no guarantees. I was kinda seeing someone, a really lovely guy a while ago and turns out he was back with his wife... Discovered that when his phone went and he abandoned everything including me and bombed out of the door. |

I'm sorry you experienced that. You can only base your opinion of someone on what you are shown but believe it when they show you the bad bits too.

In my opinion very few are actually fake... though not all profiles are entirely accurate, I think that's a different thing.
I have come across very few fakes. Those I have come across were fairly quickly spotted, reported and blocked, being men masquerading as couples.
Everyone we've arranged to meet via Fab has turned up and been pretty much as expected.

"I assume everyone is genuine. Individuals may prove me wrong. I got stood up twice last week so, obviously not everyone IS genuine but, that won't stop me assuming the best of people."
doesn't make the person not genuine though maybe life got in the way maybe a better offer came along, remember if you're messaging women they could be chatting to quite a few at the same time so it goes from there  |

Given the amount of complaining from single straight men about the difficulty of getting meets with women, it constantly stuns me when I keep reading about no shows etc.

When you get a message saying "I'm on my way" then you wait for 45 minutes before discovering they've deleted their profile, it's hard to think life got in their way.
Sadly, I think they were both men pretending to be women.
The fact that two people actually agreed to meet me should have raised my suspicions but, like I said, I generally assume everyone is genuine. |

Doesn't it depend on what your basing your definition of genuine on?
Everyone here is a real person with their own genuine reasons for being here. If those reasons don't align with yours it doesn't make them any less genuine or real a person.
Should we really be looking for 'reliable' or 'trustworthy' rather than 'genuine'? |
