Double standards
Jump to: Newest in thread
I hate those moany threads where people complain about how other Fab users do things. But this is a thread about double standards so I’m going to do exactly that!
When someone posts a status saying men who ask for meets without even seeing any face pics are ‘desperate’ - even though she’s been messaging me asking for a meet for the past fortnight without seeing any pics of my face (or sharing any of hers).
Or when someone’s profile headline shouts “NO married men!” with capital letters and everything - but then they contact you asking for a meet with a message that starts “I know you’re married but …”
Two examples is probably enough. Your turn: Give me your examples of two-faced men, deceitful women, untrustworthy trannies, and couples ignoring their own rules …
Play nice though. Keep things anonymous. No names or identifying features please. This is about things that make you laugh and shake your head, not things that need Police intervention.

The thing that makes me laugh in double standards world
"What do you mean, I have to send you a private picture of my face. You don't have any pictures of your face that I can see *in public*!"
And apparently it's the person who's been asked to send a private picture that's hard done by, and the person who doesn't have public face pictures is a stuck up so and so.
Yeah. These things are entirely the same, well done dingdong. |

My favourite is the local loony.
One minute the status is : X is a fucking WHORE! Attention seeking pathetic blah blah etc. (X being someone she has never met, or met anyone who X has met.)
Twenty minutes later : Why are women on here so vicious and horrible to me?
It tickles me every time. |

The ones that come to mind are forum comments rather than status updates or messages.
People who are extremely vocal about not meeting married people but argued vociferously that people should not be judged for meeting others during covid lockdowns as it was nobody's business apart from those they were meeting and they should be allowed to do as they wish.
Those who insist that a man who can't or won't accommodate is obviously married while a woman who can't or won't accommodate is protecting her privacy.
Those who insist that a man who stands a woman up is a bullet dodged and a definite cunt while a man who is stood up by a woman must be a cunt because she didn't meet him.
Fab is full of inconsistent behaviour but then again it's not really inconsistent if you know the people involved and how they run with the hare and hunt with the hounds. |

I think demanding a face pic in the first message while refusing to return the favour is pretty annoying. If she's not responding, or of she's just telling me to "fuck off" then fair enough but, don't ask for a face pic and engage me in conversation while refusing to show me your face.

I think the consistency that runs through these is "rules are for thee and not for me" |

I probably see status updates similar to yours. I have to admit there’s maybe four or five that I’d never contact given what I see on them. It works both ways I guess. |

I think people will bend their own rules when it suits, ie they have no Married men/women and are verified by openly married members. If they fancy them, it doesn't seem to apply.
Another one that gets me is, I won't accommodate, but expect you to.
I don't accom, it's just for me & my partner,so I wouldn't demand someone else does or automatically think someone's cheating because they don't/can't.

"You'll be sucking on my cock for hours, but I'm not putting my mouth near your nasty genitals; that's for girlfriends only."
I don't understand guys who won't go down on women. It's one of life's most basic and rewarding pleasures. |

Not sure if the scenario is double standards, but I come across a predicament which presents itself as contradiction of sorts sometimes.
I'll get a friend request from a profile which will say "no ***( add the ethnic group) ..it's not my/our thing.." or words to that effect.
-And i will be part of that ethnic group ( I'm a mixture of many different things) that they have excluded on their profile ..and yet, they have sent me a friend request.
It's a phenomenon I encounter fairly often on the online world.
I told a friend of mine about this quandary, (he's caucasian/british going back generations)..and he joked that perhaps people have some sort of colour chart on their wall..

Couple's wanting a bloke be gym fit, 6ft tall, hung 8+.
But the pictures of the male half is none of those himself and the female is average. OH YEAH I Forgot IT'S PREFERENCE? Or is it projecting insecurities??
Profiles state don't do bareback, but pictures and verification show they clearly do.

Women who are put off by action shots but will have them on their profile. I get that it's a different audience and men probably enjoy seeing them more than women, but it's still a bit of a double standard. |

Those people who bleat on their profile about the need for others to make an effort in their first message - “Don’t be boring! Say something interesting in your first message or I’ll just delete you! Such examples of no effort are: ‘Hey’, how u doin’ etc. Ask me something!”
And then they send me a message saying “Hey.”

People asking for face pics, without attaching their own and none on profile.
Or when you've had to give someone the polite no thanks, getting responses back along the lines of "why?" or "but you don't even know me" |

The women where they say they're all natural they dislike fillers, Botox and the like. Yet their photos are filtered to the max, so fillers to smooth your wrinkles are bad but photo filters doing the same are fine |

"Can't travel, can't accommodate. Looking for ...
Ethereal experience ?"
That one doesn't seem like double standards to me. That means "can travel under specific circumstances, can accommodate under specific circumstances".
It's to ward off the jokers who go "here's an extreme close up of my genitals, fancy travelling 200 miles/ giving me your address?" |

The women that make demands to every one that approaches them when they don't even reply to men that they have no interest in.
A friend of mine recently said "I'm trying to jump through hoops for a chance at a woman I wouldn't normally look twice at". I initially thought it was a bit harsh. But after hearing some of the demands I kind of see his point.
But again this is down to ratios and we all know this level of entitlement doesn't exist in the real world, or so you'd hope? |

As I've often said it's when I receive introductory messages from women whose skills at managing a conversation are significantly less than managing a cock. In particularly when their profile states "must be articulate and hold a conversation". They expect verbosity from me but they're happy to engage in monosyllabic responses in return. |

"Those who say “manners cost nothing” and then send you the most aggressive message ever "
Something I see everywhere…the ones who keep saying ‘be kind’ all the time are usually anything but. |

Big agree on this one.
Have seen some status updates that do not align with the profile information. Not so carefree and fun outlook etc.

I was contacted recently by a woman whose profile aggressively stated “READ MY PROFILE BEFORE CONTACTING ME”.
If she had bothered to read mine (and move was 1/3 the length of hers) she’d have seen I explicitly state I’m not looking to meet women. |

AHH the when it suits mentality.
That moment when she starts ranting about how someone has done the same thing to her that you pointed out she does earlier.
There's an awkward pause... As the penny drops and she's trying to suss out if you are on it. You just leave the awkward tension to stew and steep - like a Yorkshire teabag on a cold Sunday morning. Swirling it gently with a cheeky smirk, savouring the aroma, till the moment of perfection. Lift the chalice of victory to your lips and taste the glory.
1-0 sweetie... I know I know... I'm a dickhead - but what does that make you? |

The one we came across most often is couples who have "NO SINGLE MALES" splashed all over their profile.
Then very recent verifications showing from single male profiles, or public pictures/videos of the female half engaged in sexual shenanigans and it's captured "not hubby" or "not Mr *username* etc. |

Women to men - Make sure your message is well thought out and breaks down point by point why I should even consider giving you the time of day. You also need to match every single thing on my physical, mental, emotional and personality level.

Probably not a double standard but - Threads where its couples only or guys looking for guys, its populated by couples or guys, with no input from the non target parties. Threads on ladies looking for ladies, there are always comments from guys about being allowed to watch or join in. |

The idea of having threads only for a subset of the forum is just wrong. |

Not really.
There are plenty of threads where there's a specific target audience, whether that's men, women, couples, TV/TS's, BBC's, BBW's, older, younger, bi, straight....the list is pretty much endless.
Mostly out of the lounge of course and as always anyone can comment. But what's the point if it's a topic that isn't aimed at you? I doubt many straight guys would leap on a thread asking for bi guys experiences of MMF's. What input could men have on previous experience of FF meets?
There's room for all. And that includes people seeking a specific target audience. 🤷♂️ |

No 😂 why would I send my face to someone I'm not interested in, that would be of no good to anyone.
Ask for theirs 1st if you don't like it, but let's face it no one's going to send one to someone that's not for them, it's like no thanks but here's what you could have had.

We see the cheating thing a bit differently. For us it's all about drama (for us)
If a woman cheats she's less likely to get caught because they are better at it. Her partner is more likely to blame her than whoever she's fucking (or be turned on by it) |
