I know loads who say the shortened version 'up the gary' including me.
But yes, hardly anybody says the whole phrase.
Literally only yesterday someone said to me have you had a watsapp video of a man who'd shoved a remote control up his gary and had to have it surgically removed.
No I hadn't but it was sent to me later |

Have never heard of it and would never use it. That man has ruined my younger self as he had one of the best stage shows at the time and I loved the music from him and the glitter band. To think at the time he was a child fiddler now turns my stomach |
