Jump to: Newest in thread
Alright folks, in your opinion (which can never be wrong)
What is your favourite song ever. Let's hypothetically say your about to die and can listen to one song. What's it gonna be..
I'm torn between Fleetwood mac the chain or Guns n Roses November rain
I'm curious to hear yours |

'Summertime'.
The version sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Nothing wrong with most of the others already mentioned and doubtless, still to come, but I will be able to hear them on 'Caroline' over the course of a few days. |

Dedicated to the one I love by The Momas and Popas.loved it since I was a kid. For some reason I always well up when I hear it. I met them once. Sat talking to Michelle Phillips on my bed. Only time I've ever been star struck. |

On my deathbed it would be Time to say good bye by Celine Dione and Andrea Bocelli. Brings me to tears in loving memory of the person I will be reunited with.
But in all honesty I have quite a few "favourites". |

"Welcome to the machine, pink floyd
I never personally liked pink Floyd. Sorry"
Nor did I until I actually listened to them!
Didn't help when I couldn't find the LP everyone was raving about because the name wasn't on it!
Thought "What a silly name for a group. Their music must be crap". Then I discovered they were arguably the greatest group (or individuals) ever.
Never tire of their stuff. |

I agree with moon the loon. As I said previously the man was unbelievable to watch on the drum kit. A nutter off them too |

I have many favourite songs, but back in the 70's I used have a girl friend who got me hooked on Leonard Cohen as we used shag all night to it.
About 4 years ago I was driving home and on the radio I heard a song which captivated me as I had never heard it before, but the voice was familiar and made me think back to that girl.
I was able to track it down by looking at theradio stations playlist for that point in time on the radio.
It turned out to be Leonard Cohen singing "Closing Time". I think its absolutely brilliant and so is it's video which I think won some awards.
And that is what I want playing at my funeral when I "Check Out". I can play it over and over and never get sick of it, the words are so meaningful. |

"Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy "
This. Possibly the greatest tune, has everything from trip hop & trance to orchestral & big beat
There are a few others, Boadicea by Enya, Golden brown, depends if I want to rock out or chill out (too old to trip out these days...) |

Transsexual Transylvania |
The Host of Seraphim
Severance
Sanvean
The End of Words
Cantara
Summoning of the Muse
Persephone (the gathering of flowers)
The Writing on My Father's Hand
Ocean
...all by Dead Can Dance
They are my favourite band by such a considerable margin that all of my favourite songs are by them.

"How can you single out one song i mean its ludicrous "
Very true. But I definitely have a handful of songs that I will say are my favourite songs of all time. And I can put any one of those at number one.
