Bloody house stinks of fish now...

Just made a gorgeous pea and haddock risotto, but my hands and the house absolutely pong now...damn good job I haven't made any meet arrangements tonight, I'd be as welcome as botulism at a buffet!

And no cracks about how normal it is for girls/me to smell of fish you rotten sods!

I have heard that cutting an onion in half and leaving it out helps, but then of course the house smells of onion, lol.

boil some vinegar with water about one third vinegar to two of water. Spray the house and its gone in no time. Good for tobacco smells too.

The only fish that smells is very old fish. Fresh caught fish has no odour... best look at where you bought it from and see how old it is.

It was fresh from the market, maybe I just have a very sensitive nose...the ruddy cat can certainly smell it, she was hanging round my feet while I was cooking it!

Cut lemon up put it in water and pop into microwave for a few mins/.....open microwave and let the fumes from warm lemon drift....I cook loads of fish and do this all time..soon gets rid of smell

steam the haddock in microwave bags, then just flake into the risotto, just the same as when making kedgeree.

lemon slices or vinegar in a jug or pan warmed will help to remove/lessen the smell, it also works to freshen the microwave
