The sound of England's nuclear deterrent when they launch a test missile from a submarine and it literally plops into the sea a few feet away. These missiles literally cost us tens of thousands of pounds and bought from Uncle Sam, which is actually a slang word for America. Have they sold us a pup that does not work?

What's going on here guys it's all over the news

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

The Ministry of Defence must be having a meltdown over that. Is it not the second consecutive failed test of the Trident system?

I've read multiple publications mentioning that America's nuclear deterrent is old and unreliable. The Minutemen III system, for example is old 1970's tech and nearing the end of its life. There was a recent failed test of that as well. They can't extend its service any longer as they no longer have technicians alive that would have a complete understanding of its old legacy systems

Conspiracy theory alert!!!

Just what if ......

We've never had usable nukes, we just pretended we did and squandered the money elsewhere.

Now the original tricksters have died off, we are just discovering their ruse!

If the Navy can't get this right, should we send in the Army?

I don't think that usually matters if the submarine is fucked.

Your last sentence is complete nonsense. To say there are no technicians with a complete understanding of legacy systems shows a lack of understand of how the industry actually works (many many departments with specialist deliverables with teams of technicians in all different fields)

If you had said that the life couldn't be extended due to contracted support being removed and some materials coming to the end of their shelf life with no contract for replacement, and modifications/upgrades being severely limited you would be closer to the truth.
