Hey everyone, I wanted to start a discussion about how cultural differences can impact FWB relationships. Have any of you encountered someone from a different cultural background with whom you had a great hookup but found it difficult to maintain a stable FWB dynamic due to those differences? I'm interested in hearing your experiences and how you navigated these challenges. Being an italian living in Uk i am directly involved with this matter.

Carlisle usually

If someone is incompatible with me for a kind of relationship, I don't engage in that kind of relationship with them.

Whether it's cultural differences or otherwise

I’m Mexican and my FWB is Scottish. We find each other fascinating and yes, there’s usually lots of cultural differences but we laugh a lot about them! usually it’s about food… haha.

As long as our values are aligned then it can work very well.

Every single relationship (on any level) that I've ever had, has been with someone of a completely different cultural background. I don't see how it's that different if you build a relationship / life / whatever together. The mistake is to expect the other person to fit into your existing life, but I think that's just very true in general. Perhaps the fitting in is easier with someone from the same culture, but it's still a mistake and creates a one-sided relationship.
