I've just tried to flirt with someone in the real world and he was completely oblivious!
There's no hope for me .
So how do you know when someone is flirting with you?
Are you a master at flirting or do you find it hard /awkward?

You have to be way more overt, I find in real life. Like - shout I fancy you! |

Truth is people are oblivious to it
it’s the fact that these days if you get it wrong your a creep your this that and the next thing
So it’s best just to play it off as obvious to it
The world we live in to day has ruined its self |

I'm often oblivious to ladies flirting with me... it's probably not your fault.

My two cents… Men act oblivious to flirting because women who are flirting act exactly the same way as women who are just being friendly, or those who want some attention and nothing more.
It’s usually impossible to tell which one of these three types you’re dealing with, and the risks of getting it wrong are very high. So it’s much safer to just pretend it’s not happening.
So, if you are flirting, you’re just going to have to make it obvious in some way. |

I normally find out ive been flirted with when somebody else tells me after the fact.
It takes for her to say "fancy a beej" for me to be like "is she interested?" |

"I have been oblivious to women flirting with me all my life.
I'm sure part of this is because I simply never imagine anyone is actually interested in me.
Probably a lot of people are like that."
This is so true |

I'm good if they're quite obvious. Most of the time I think 'hmmm, maybe they are but I don't want to make a fool of myself when it could be nothing'..
I still maintain that I'm not really flirty. Sometimes I am a little bit, kind of flirty. That's a good laugh. |

It's heen years since anyone flirted with me. If it happened now I would ignore and get away as soon as possible. The danger of misinterpreting an innocent comment will get you in a world of hurt these days. |

I'm way too grown up for flirting. If someone wants me I just want them to be upfront about it. When someone dances around the subject I just kinda see it as childish which is a huge turnoff. |

I wouldn't recognise being flirted with if they hit me round the face with a big hand saying I am flirting with you. Mrs has told be so many times when we have been out that some female was flirting with me but I have been totally oblivious to it. She says it can be quite endearing and entertaining. |

No one flirts with me so I don't know how I'd react.
I do apparently flirt but I don't know I'm doing it - is that still flirting?
I just talk to people and hope for the best one way or another. Flirting sounds far too complicated |

I don't flirt in real life. I've never been good at it.
I'm also rubbish at telling when someone is flirting with me. My wife used to say I was the most oblivious person when it came to realising that people were coming on to me.
The reason she got through is that she persevered, and was special. |

I work in hospitality and consider flirting a natural part of my job role in hosting guests.
I don't go in heavy or anything like that but I do enjoy making people feel good about them selves, It's great for business as well.
Outside of that environment flirting becomes a little less natural for me, I have no idea as to why though??? |

I was once at a work thing with my wife, and a woman we were chatting with sidled up on the other side of me and slipped her room key into my pocket.
I didn’t twig what was going on, even then. I gave her it back and said “I think you got mixed up and gave me this instead of your business card …”
Her face. She looked at me like ‘You sweet idiot’. |

Oh no.
I think l’m rubbish at it myself but hopefully I’d know when I’m being flirted with.
Not getting a response though.
Guessing he was attached. |

"I’m hopeless at noticing, always have been, it needs to be so obvious. Does the woman who walked up to me in a club and simply said “I want you to fuck me” count?"
When she asked that, did you think "I wonder if she's flirting with me"? |

That’s where it got a bit complicated as I recognised her as a mum from my kids primary school. |

I have been flirted to (I think) on a few occasions and not realised. I then re-live the evening/day and realised I missed a great opportunity.
I just never know why anybody would be interested until it's too late! |

Miss Bella, your profile pic alone is so flirtatious that I come over all unnecessary every time I see it. |

I was on a date, which I thought was going rather well, when the other person said they didn’t know when a woman was flirting with them.
I decided they couldn’t possibly be that daft as to not realise that I had been flirting over the duration of our date. I looked them in the eye and did something that would remove any doubt of how I felt about them in that moment. They jumped out of their seat, screeching loudly. Everyone in the pub was staring at us. They were mortified. I asked if they still were unsure if I was keen on them or not. I told them I felt being overtly obvious about my flirting was compulsory in that moment. They said, if I had been flirting before they didn’t realise at all. To this day, I’m still baffled by this. |

I think you'll find flirting now is a no no... Respect their boundaries, how dare you invade their privacy, how do you know they want to etc...?
Or there's always the wolf whistle if you really have to go, go hard. |

I'm OK at flirting. No one takes me seriously when I do it though, so that can be tricky.
And even if it seems like someone might be flirting with me, I know they're not doing it with intent. It's just a friendly thing. |

I want to know what you did to remove any doubt that made them screech?

Flirting isn't a science, it's an art. Sometimes it works wonders, other times if the chemistry is not right with the other party, you can look a bit foolish. But what does it matter, just move on.
It does depend a great deal on a mental wavelength, if you and the other person are on a similar wavelength, can be sexy flirting. Other times she can think you are being creepy. It's a bit hit and miss.
The body language and the eyes are a big give away. For men confidence is important, confidence as opposed to arrogance. It's a fine line. |

I don't really pick up on someone flirting with me - unless they're being so obvious about it.
Then I think they're either being sarcastic or doing it for a bet
