As a non-native English speaker there are times when I’ll hear a song from the 90s, that I “learnt” when I didn’t know English but still remember the English lyrics I misheard. I’ve had far too many laughs over songs I misheard before becoming proficient in English. Sometimes I can’t unhear the misheard lyrics.

Oddly enough that reminds me of the (1989) song "Ride On Time" by Black Box.
They were an Italian dance/rock group who hired a model to lip-sync their songs. Ride On Time used unauthorised sample material from Loleatta Holloway's "Love Sensation"; they had actually misheard "Right On Time" as "Ride On Time" when naming the song. Of course, Loleatta's lawyers weren't too pleased about this so Black Box hired Heather Small to re-record the song (she later became famous as the lead singer of M People). |
