Was just wondering, how fast IS a drop of a hat?!

And who on earth these days is dropping hats? I don't really see anyone wearing them.

I wear hats. I don't often drop them although sometimes the wind blows them off.

They used to drop a hat to start a race.

The saying ‘at the drop of a hat’ was first coined by the well known archaeologist Dr jones and was a reference to the speed he once retrieved his hat from an ancient booby trap as he escaped with a golden idol.

Right behind you…. Boo

A hat drops at the same velocity as any other object that is not designed to stay aloft……. I imagine.

I think this is the one! Sounds the most plausible.

I have to say, he did have to be rather quick didn't he.

Interesting. Now the question is whether the race started when the hat landed or when it was let go.

Oh dear that's a conundrum for sure. If I was racing I'd set off as soon as the hat was let go. I need all the help I can get and the damn egg keeps rolling off the spoon

Hahahaha lmao. You are my kind of funny.

I thought the egg and spoon race involved love eggs inside the lady while the gent spooned her and it was a race to see who cums first (or should that be who cums last?).

Ok, so have you ever dropped your hat and was there enough time for you to meet anyone when it happened?

I guess time is hat dependent and dropped from where?

From the ISS it'd take a really long time.

I wouldn't be up for meeting that person at the drop of a hat.

I wear a hat. It's the work of a millisecond to drop it. It may take longer to reach the floor, though.

I don't think it'd make it to the ground from the ISS. I think it would just float around.

However, you're local enough to me for me to meet you by the time it hits the ground.

Actually....you're in my home town. So I could reach you even if you drop an anvil never mind a hat.
