That’s what is causing me issues as he is a bugger out at it all the time with others n gets me to sometimes cover for him but it’s still not right |

So, what I read in this. Is because your mate acts in a certain way, that greenlights and justifies any bad behavior on your part. This is hostage taken, (now I'm not saying this is what your doing, this is only my perspective)
'I'll behave in this manner because you do, and because I cover for you I'll do the same' this doesn't make you a friend, it makes you an enabler, and implict in it...
