There seems to be an break through in the case.
Apparently christian brueckner is standing trial this month accused of carrying out a number of attacks in portugal, he is being named as the prime suspect in the case.
Sketches that allegedly was drawn by madeleine mccann suspect christian brueckner are to be used in court against him.
What do you think of the latest development and do you think that he could be the one who did it? |

British teams recovered evidence that dismissed all the bull the Portuguese reported or claimed.
Sites now being revisited had good 'sign' back at the time, sadly politics got in the way of professional teams working. |

"He could well be the one who “did it”.
But I still think the family know more than they’re letting on. I don’t think we’ll ever know the full truth"
Any proof that the are holding info back?
Care to share what you believe they know but haven’t “let on”?
Or just baseless allegations based on a hunch? |

I knew there would be one. I didn’t say there was any proof they’re holding things back, I said “I think”. Because that’s what I do think.
Do you have any proof they weren’t involved? No you don’t |

From what I've heard the evidence against him is circumstancial. His phone placed him near the apartment, he changed his car numberplate the day after then drove his camper van to Germany. He hid a memory stick of vile images under his dead dog. I don't know anything about the incriminating sketches Shag mentioned. |

So you have no proof then. Thanks for clarifying.
What makes you “think” that thru are holding back info? To hold such a strong and negative view, it must be based on something, surely?
I didn’t say they weren’t involved, so have no idea why you are asking me for proof. I’m firmly in the camp of leaving it to the investigators rather than posting hurtful opinions.

I have a degree in psychology and I’m doing a masters in forensic psychology with a special interest in human behaviour and body language. It’s not just a wild stab in the dark, they show body language signs of hiding information.
I could be wrong, but then again I could be right. |

What body language signs indicate that they are not “letting on” what they fully know?
You saw all footage of their interviews with police, did you?
Or you expect every detail to be revealed in press conferences and interviews when they have probably been asked not to do so? (Could compromise investigation leads etc).
I’m surprised at someone with your background jumping to conclusions based on incomplete info |

Psychology degree aside I don't know of any parent who might have even slightly behaved, engaged. conducted and further more functioned as they did hours after their child was deemed missing in a foreign country.
We can all speculate but bottom line is had those children been supervised at all times the mccanns would not be up for scrutinisation.
Regardless of if they were involved or not leaving children aged 5 and under to go and socialise would be a safeguarding concern in the UK. |

“We can all speculate”. We don’t have to. Some people chose to do so, for reasons that I don’t understand. I choose not to. |

I’d like to think anyone actually studying that stuff wouldn’t give comment on it from what they’ve seen in a few TV appearances
A professional would want to actually meet and speak with these people being making such a huge statement about them knowing more and hiding info about their kids abduction
This is how you can always spot the fakes or the ones that shouldn’t be listened too. The same way you wouldn’t trust a doctor to diagnose an illness over a few pictures of yourself
Comments like these are the ones that should bar people from working with patients. It shows a completely lack of professionalism |

I'm still of the opinion that the parent did it, I don't think that they did it on purpose. But that's just my opinion, end of the day they put drinking, having fun with their friends and eating tapas over their children! |

Thankfully there are more than one and thankfully a higher burden of proof is required than idle Internet chat room speculation based on selected and limited information. |

The whole case is mired in mystery and intrigue.
The first people the McCanns contacted upon Maddie's disappearance weren't the authorities but officials of the British consulate in Portimão, who were acquaintances / friends of Gerry. Not a normal course of action at all... |

No much easier to speak to the locals, you don't speak the language and don't know the system. I mean who would, in an emergency in a foreign country, reach out to a friend who works and knows how to activate the local police.? Much better to struggle with strangers. |

Most people in the Algarve speak English so that is a complete non issue. Most people in the police force, especially younger, also speak decent English. |

Seriously. The first people you're supposed to contact for support as a British national in a foreign country is the british consulate. You're mind is made up for whatever reasons. But choosing to contact the consulate surely isn't one of them. |

I was living in the Algarve when this happened. It was a media circus with wall to wall coverage. This information came to light after some investigation. |

Pretty sure he said that this guy is a complete red herring as he is the most cast iron alibi that there could be |

No not instead of,as well as. But you seem to be agitated by the sequence of the timing of how people respond under extreme duress. The met police and gov website suggest contacting the fcdo(consulate), the UK police and the local police for anyone going missing overseas. Perhaps at 11 at night the local cop shop was closed? Who knows. |

Is that why the first suspect Robert Murat was a volunteer interpreter for the Portuguese Police?More accurately a volunteer interpreter for Brits who found themselves in trouble with the Cops, whose low level of English meant the problem could only be sorted at the station.Maybe now a higher standard of English is prevalent amongst cops in tourist areas, back then it wasn't,which is why the Portugese Police regularly used Murat. |

Think the parents fucked up in a very bad way by leaving the children on their own while they went out for drinks away from the apartment
Completely selfish of them and the friends
I don't think they did it but made it easier for someone else to do it and that the body will never be found
They have to live with the guilt and shame so God love them
