I like anal play in all of its forms but I do believe that pegging itself does refer to the use of a "strapon" wether that is a harness or insertable, which begs the questions can an insertable be a "strapon" and would sharing a double ended dildo constitute as "pegging"?

I suspect it's more a question of where it's located. The main difference I feel is that pegging simulates a penis in that it's worn on the crotch, rather than anal play involving hands, tongues or toys which can be hand held or hands free.
Yes, to some it's the thought of them/her having a real dick. To others it's more about the sensations felt and the stimulation generated.
So what you call it will matter to some and less to others. If they enjoy it I don't think they'll really care.

I would differentiate between the two. I think part of the appeal of pegging is the role reversal aspect and power exchange, hence I think it's pegging if it involves a strap on and anal play otherwise. |

Yep. There's a definite difference between the two and some will like one more than the other.
I find it sad that some men are so concerned about the perception of it making them less 'straight' if anything hoes near their arse.
