Asking this because roughly 80% of the couples profiles I browse, have the F's down as bisexual. Nothing wrong with that of course. But being a bi guy myself, I do get a fair few messages off of M's from a couples profile who state the M is straight, wanting to meet in a 1-2-1 situation, again nothing wrong with that. I mean is there a stigma about a M being bi, or even bi curious in a couples profile? I obviously know there are couple profiles our there, where the M has declared his bisexuality or curiousness. And good on them I say. |

I think sadly its still seen as more socially acceptable for women to experiment than it is for a guy.
A women can be a "tourist" and still be allowed to be straight in a way guy's are often chastised for.
It's one of those fab double standards |

It may be a high percentage that have women down as bisexual but in my experience the number of women who are genuinely bi is much lower. I've met quite a few women who say they are but aren't when it actually comes down to playing. |

"I reckon people on fab would be less likely to meet some guys/ couples if they openly stated that they have sex with men. "
Pshaw! Men having The Sex with men! I've never heard of anything so preposterous! Sounds suspicious to me! |

Yes, there's a massive stigma . |

I've read David Icke. It may be lizard people, but frankly it just sounds too implausible. I'd mark it as disinformation. |

Completely agree. Bi-playful would be a more accurate description for a lot of women on Fab, and light play at best. Just enough to please their fella. |

Some reasons for women in couples presenting as bi are :-
1. They didn't know they were until their partners told them they were.
2. They say they are to hold on to their partner.
3. They say they are because they think it opens doors for them re meets etc
4. They say they are because it makes them sound more interesting.
5. They really are.
Think about it ........
If so many women were bi ( without a man in tow ) how come there are not more lesbian couples around ?
It's NOT because women are more open about their sexuality.
Twice as many men than women identify as gay in the uk. 50% more women than men identify as bi in the uk .....
Are they really bi by nature or choice tho ...... bi is bi innit ?
Still doesn't answer the lesbian couples question because in the uk in reality 57% of same sex marriages were between females .....
Bi on here is quite the anomaly. |

Many men as said above, will put they're straight so they don't lose meets with women/couples.Some profiles do state no bi men.
Prey touched on this, some ladies will say they're bi/curious because it's the mans fantasy & she will play with another woman to get him off.
Some ladies put straight too when they're bi, I've seen some say it's because of the messages they get from couples, as so many are after a Bi fem to join them.
It's a bit of a minefield really op, female bisexuality is very much encouraged and even expected on here, but it's not so much for men still. |

"I think women are more open about their sexuality. Men are less honest."
Women have always had a greater freedom of sexual & gender identity. The way female friends hug and kiss each other, And the ability to wear stereotypically male clothes. |

Always is simply not true. Women couldn’t even always wear trousers |

I've said numerous times in here that being straight is the only sexual preference that people on fab seem to have to justify.
How many straight women get messages from couples who don't accept that they aren't bi?
How many straight men have had the old fab accusation thrown at them that they are really only fab straight?
I've yet to see a bi or gay person on the forums being challenged on their sexuality.
I've had a number of people tell me that I should be more open about my sexuality.
Yes I already am, I'm straight!
But then you are narrow-minded or afraid to push your boundaries!
For some people being open about sexuality means doing what they want or think you should do. |

I’m not sure about always but I’m certain of the last century or so
2 men kissing in public are far more likely to be violently attacked than women
Many places in the world, even in the west, gay men are specifically targeting and attacked for being gay
And even amongst friends it’s still a very common point of ridicule and bullying to be gay
And amongst relationships, women are far more put off by a guy being with a guy, than a woman being with a women
Lots of steps to be taken in society to sort these things out, and that’s only in the west. My friends son was travelling South Africa and was accused of being gay. They tied him up, put a tire around his neck and set it on fire (they call it necklacing someone). He wasn’t even gay. Huge changes need to be taken in other continents |

"Many bi men put straight because they think they're more likely to get laid.
Many straight women put bi because they think they're more likely to get the bloke laid."
Agreed, we have had situations where the woman is clearly not even curious, it's frustrating as I usually end up making it a social when I have spent all day getting excited |

I have bi-curious on our profile. A more accurate descriptor would by bi-playful, I think. I love kissing women. And boobs It pretty much leaves Mr cold, though. So it's not me doing for my fella.

To many people think porn is the way of the world, there is way more girl on girl porn than guy on guy. Even though it's catching up.
As a whole society needs to be just as accepting towards guy on guy as they are for girl on girl. |

Using porn as a point to judge the issue on isn’t useful. Men are by far the biggest consumers and since most men are straight, women on women is naturally going to have a bigger market |

Men are so much more likely to be victims of violent homophobic attacks. Definitely feels worth mentioning that it’s usually violence committed by men because men find it more repulsive than they do the idea of two women together. But the violent attacks on women that we know about can also be the result of that issue. Men wanting women to perform their sexuality for them and getting violent when told no.
I think the issues in some places are definitely huge issues. And things that ironically are largely a result of western imperialism. I don’t know what the answers are though. I empowering the people resisting on the ground with funding and other resources? Idk. |

Its not just FAB is is cultural. It was illegal for a guy to be bi or gay until late 60s, could be prison or terrible clinical procedures. It has never been illegal to be a bi or gay female. More often that than not, hand maiden performed a number of extra services for the ladies of the gentry as it was unthinkable fornthem maybe to have a gentleman provide them in many cases |

You only have to look at the image the media portrays of bisexuals to see why men don't describe themselves as bi.
Women having a sexual relationship with women are portrayed as sensual, romantic and caring.
Men are shown as just wanting sex.
Yes, there are exceptions to this but on the whole it's portrayed this way.

It’s still illegal in a lot of the world too and historically gay men have received much harsher/violent treatment for being gay
It’s absolutely crazy that we get so violent over what adults do alone. Massively spurred on by religious extremism too which is why it’s so bad in many middle eastern countries |

I don't agree that it's always the case that a woman will claim to be bi just to please her own man.
The reason I don't agree is that over the years I've chatted to numerous single women on here who chopped and changed their preference depending on who they were either chatting to or hoping to attract.
One week they were straight and then attend a group social and suddenly they were bicurious or bisexual simply because they had their eye on the male half of a couple and it was the only way they were ever going to get their attention. |

From my experience women are more open about their sexuality than men. When it comes to bisexuality they are more open to admitting that they are sexually attracted to women. Straight guys will rarely admit that they like another guys sexually. When it comes to actually playing it's tricky. One of my frie nds says she's bi, but hasn't really played with many women and is not activelly seeking such encounters; the other would rather burn alive than admit that she is bi, but leave her alone with another woman and sparks fly like it's New Year's Eve.

"[Removed by poster at 07/02/24 15:10:49]
Netflix's new docudrama about Alexander the great is coming in for criticism in some circles for turning him gay as part of the woke culture. "
They clearly don’t know history, pederasty was extremely common amongst the Greeks and Romans
Won’t even touch on the messed up fact that many of the young boys were extremely young, but it was still a very accepted and celebrated part of the culture |

I definitely agree.
I can sit in a room with 10 blokes, and I can guarantee you, if someone was talking about bisexual females, or a ffm, getting excited.
But if a conversation of a bisexual mail, or a mmf, I can guess the remarks.
I can’t give an answer why, or even guess that’s how things are.
Will it change in the future? I hope so.
I think that’s why I enjoyed talking on Fab, so much most of the things that I come out with things that I can’t talk to my real life vanilla friends about.
I’ve often questioned my sexuality, I know where I am very often question it. |

Bi playful isn't just a term for women though.
Many men have never indulged in anything more than oral and touching another guy. Many have never kissed another man, let alone participated in anal either way.
It's just a physical act and an occasional one at that. 'Curious' is often the only option to choose for those who once in a blue moon may indulge in light same sex activities whether a man or a woman. It doesn't really fit, but given you're no longer 100% straight and not really 100% bisexual either it's a label that some choose as the most appropriate.
Of course the second a guy adds it as his status it'll be seen far more negatively by some than when a woman does the same. Always been the case and always will.
