Does it have a place when finding someone to do the horizontal tango with? Do you know which star signs you will clash with?
Do you think it's a load of baloney? |

"I don't see what it could possibly affect apart from the perceptions and interpretations of those who believe in it "
But seemingly intelligent people do believe in it, that's what's made me think twice. Asking the question on here to see if astrology fans can say why it's valuable in some way. |

I've not seen any evidence that it has any effects, so I'd recommend ignoring it. With billions of people in the world, it's simple to produce research and to produce evidence upon such a purported effect. |

I used to write horoscopes for a newspaper. It was not a permanent job. The last guy to walk into the office on a Friday morning was given that job by the editor. |

Despite thinking its baloney I have no problem with people using astrology as some sort of decision making tool.
my ex in-laws based all their decisions including date and time of marriage ceremonies and compatibility of bride and groom on astrology. |

"A boy at school was born the same day as me. He is a farmer and a loner. Nothing at all like me. "
As I understand it, your "moon sign" and time of day norm will mean you have a unique combination of characteristics. I think. |

I kinda think I do have a problem with making decision based on something that I think is baloney. And being dismissed and criticised because the person has negative associations with my star sign (this has just happened) |

Some intelligent people probably believe the earth is flat too |

I personally don't think it's any different to other random decision making tools. I never heard of a marriage being called off because their horoscopes weren't compatible. I did attend some weddings at unusual times by my standards though.
I think if someone rejected me because of my star sign it would be clear we weren't compatible anyway. |

I believe in God now, but I still enjoy some astrology; me and my friend recently did tarot readings and then the day after I got some great news! Which is exactly what the cards said.
Whether it’s God you believe in or astrological powers I think you should be respected |

Yeah that became apparent quite quickly! |

I believe in a higher power rather than God. I don't believe in Astrology, but I'd have no problem respecting someone's belief in it. As long as they didn't insist that I was a certain kind of person based on when I was born. Which is what someone has just done to me. |

"Who cares about a star sign? Same goes for peoples football club, politics or most other things that get people uptight.
As long as they are decent humans then that is all I care about."
I think people's politics are important as it shows their views. I could never be friends with someone who supported the National Front, Britain First or the EDL. |

"The mention of star signs is a red flag..as it generally means the person is barking mad... they probably own far too many cats and probably have one of those Dreamcatchers hanging on the wall.. "
I only have one cat, and I swapped my dreamcatchers for bamboo wind chimes |

Astrology is pretty important in my religion, it’s not exactly just compatibility based on star signs… that’s just the layman’s understanding of it.
If anyone wants to reject me because of it, that’s their own issue. |

Astrology is a load of old crap I'm sure. The only thing I wonder about is that if the moon affects the ocean and tides in such a way and we are over 60% water then there must be something in that?
Or it's lunacy on my behalf. |

That's me apart from the cats!I'm more of a dog bird tbh Each to their own eh.
Op I do look into my/their chart for compatibility (not just sun sign) but I don't let it influence my decisions though! I just find it interesting.
I tend to find Geminis a good fit sexually but awful match for me in relationships. |

Not rejecting you - I'm just somewhat bemused that someone would reject me because of when I was born? |

I like reading about it, but not just a Mystic Meg 4 lines in a newspaper.
A proper in depth natal chart type understanding. I just find it interesting, same as numerology or starseeds.
I'd never use it to accept or reject someone though. Cunts come in all star signs. |
