"What was the point of the inquiry and all of the money being spent on this?"
You tell me. But, did you really expect any different? The sad truth is all of 'them' NEED the status quo as it is. Anything which made any substantive difference could have 'unforeseen consequences'.. and they wouldn't want that, would they...
The only thing which really sparked Levenson was what happened (and still not proven) over Millie Dowler's voicemail. If that hadn't occurred, I don;t think there would have been anything like the interest or expense. And for what, in all honesty..?? |

It just makes me really cross that the promise to follow Leveson (apologies for typo in thread title) was the part of the justification for the cost and time spent on this. That money could have been used to support three charities I know that are making people redundant and facing closure.
It's all smoke and mirrors, but it was ever thus. I shouldn't watch the news - I was in a happy place without television and news for the last week. |

He probably feels awkward as he has been 'in bed' with so many of the editors in the past and wants to maintain favour. |

It is a sad fact the government(not just the Tories) require two groups on their side. Media and banks, without either their jobs and lives become very hard. The inquiry would never of happened but for going over the so called line. They left it has long as they could, but public opinion did not die down. |

Lets see..
Cameron is a close friend of Brookes and whomever else within the murdoch cabal..
we have an election in just over 2 years and he needs to keep them sweet, not only NI either..
and he's watching his arse from his own front and back benchers..
to be fair to Clegg and Milliband at least they are pushing for something stronger than what looks like being the status quo with a few added extra's..
skeletons in cupboards perhaps..?
it wont stop another 'Milly Dowler', they will just bung more compo at whomever they shit all over..
a waste of time, money and a chance missed to pull the press into line..
cheers our Dave, you gutless fucker..
