I love them all the time they stay on top of, or outside my fence. The minute they cross the boundary to destroy the birdfeeders or bury food in my lawn they become my nemesis, and take their chances against the wrath of Apple. |

Love them, not as much as hedgehogs but definitely in the same ballpark.
Had one that visited my garden everyday once, I used to feed it nuts. He's come a bit closer every day.
Then the neighbours cat nearly caught him, as he'd got too fat.
There's some kind of deep moral lesson in there somewhere I'm sure. |

"What are your thoughts on squirrels. Love em or hate em
Red squirrels yes. Grey need to be culled!
No they really don't!
Grey are invasive and took over red squirrel habitats. "
Our red squirrels are conserved. I thought this was nation wide?

"Have you seen Red Squirrels? They are double the cuteness and three times as pretty "
Wish we could be over run by these little furry fellas! Way cuter than the grey little feckers!
I don't mind the grey ones, although they are pretty brazen at times! |

Although at mums old house there was a merry band I christened Cedric, Alan and Cyril - they really didn't care if we were about. And no squirrel proof bird feeder is squirrel proof. Just so you know |

Only have the grey ones around here xx"
Only the grey ones in my garden as well. Red ones can be seen in a few places up in south west Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway, and on the Isle of Arran. There is also supposed to be some in the NT park at Formby, but I haven't seen them.
Red is so much more exciting than grey (in squirrels and in lingerie) xx |

"Love them.. wish the grey ones hadn't killed off the reds tho
What am I missing here. Did they murder them? "
All the squirrels in the UK used to be red ones, then back in Victorian times someone brought some grey ones in from America, they started breeding, and 100 years later most of the reds are gone. The grey ones are bigger and drive out the red ones, they breed faster, and some of them carry a disease that the reds have no immunity to. |

Paper Town Central, Essex. |
The bad news is that the grey is an invasive species that are driving out the reds.
However, there are now black squirrels out there too. They're even worse.
Greys do untold damage. If caught, it's illegal to release them.
But they look and act so cute, it's hard not to love em. |
