I dont think that’s a solution or fair. Or if they do, give them BIGGER f’cing parking spaces!!!
They can’t fit in a space that’s never changed from being made for an average family car from the 1970s’.
F’cking idiots. |

They should be charged (or where possible, fined) for deliberately parking with the driver's side on over over the line marking the adjacent bay.
This is becoming a regular ploy to deter or even prevent another medium to large vehicle parking close to either side of them. Selfish gits.
I've seen some parked in a diagonal fashion across the primary bay with front wheels encroaching the adjacent bay on one side and rear wheels doing likewise on the other side. The message being quite clearly 'We don't give a fuck'. |

What if people want to drive about in lorries to look cool., A new fashion trend! Surely that should be catered for too then .. and they'll demand huge parking bays |

"Would you pay more for parking, if you wanted to park an SUV type vehicle?
No a car is a car 4 wheels "
Bigger, more polluting, less chance for pedestrians and cyclists surviving an impact..

I'm guessing that some would think that they can take up whatever parking space is needed, irrespective of the impacts on others. Perhaps about the equivalent of 6 regular car spots.
As we've got so little time to reduce our climate and ecological impacts, I'm assuming that some stick and carrot measures could best help. People needing SUV for medical reasons, shuldn't be unfairly discriminated against though.

I fully agree.. unfortunate people see them as a fashion accessory.. so exemptions for people with a valid reason..disabled/medical reasons as you say |

I agree too. What I don't understand is why driving a car that's a cross between a tank and a bus seems to give people such a sense of entitlement - speeding, bad parking and general selfishness seem to be endemic amongst SUV owners (although of course they aren't the only ones). |

"Parking is already so expensive everywhere, a few hours in town the other day, £19.80.
Try some parts of London then where 4 hours is over £50 or more"
It’s cheaper to take a parking ticket sometimes and pay it off that day. I have done that a good few times |

"Sadly it looks like Sadiq Khan is considering introducing this in London. Guessing ULEZ isn't making enough money
Got to be a way to get this clown out of office."
Fortunately he does not have this power so its his usual grandstanding.Theres an election coming and we can expect more of this from him.
London Boroughs already charge a parking rate dependant on your vehicles emissions and most add a diesel surcharge.
And much as it pains me I do agree with him. These vehicles have no place and surve no purpose in central London.
And to add insult to injury Westminster have done away with cheap parking for electric vehicles |

I've seen quite a few small cars parked like this.
Not sure which is worse, an inconsiderate driver or a really bad driver? |

They're probably much the same, unfortunately for the rest of us |

We bounced a few cars sideways that did this |

Got to be a way to get this clown out of office.Parking is free money using the law to make it legal, paint yellow or red lines you can do anything you like, so charging to park a vehicle thats legally allowed on the road but is larger than say a van is the next opportunity to make money, if we all turned round and didn't pay what could they do about it...... Nothing "
Are you kidding that they could do nothing?
Send bailiffs round
Tow your car away
Crush it
Charge more and more for your debt until they force you to sell your house
Anything else... |
