Basically go to whatever brand car you like, speak to their motability person and they'll give you the details. You may have a deposit to pay which will vary from car to car, but currently there's a scheme on, it's like a cost of living thing for motability. It's £750. So if your chosen car needs a deposit that can be used towards it. If the deposit is less than that you get the change. Depending of make and model you'll have anywhere between a 2 and 6 month wait |

No. The 'allowance' is the extra high rate mobility you get awarded from pip. They basically take that instead of you getting it in the bank each month. I don't know when this £750 scheme ends, but I think it ends this year sometime. You can use the 750 as your deposit, then every month your car is paid for directly from DWP but its only up to a certain value every month. It usually covers standard cars like vaixhalls etc. Anything like Audi or BMW etc you have to contribute the extra towards it. A friend of mind has just went for their car. Got a 5 month wait for a Vauxhall Grandland Ultimate, £399 deposit (which will come off the £750) and it works out to be about £71 a week for the car itself going forward. Plus they get £351 in the bank a week after |

"You get a letter in the post with details on how to get it. It does mean gets 12 points for mobility on PIP, this also means you get a blue badge for parking. "
Oh so if you get a blue badge, does that mean you qualify for a mobility allowance /car?? |

The scheme covers the car, tax, servicing, insurance, and even tyres. You just have to chuck fuel in it.
And clean it and pay for any dent repairs.
It's all on the website along with a full list of available vehicles and quotes.
If you get the higher mobility rate via a PIP you can opt to use all of that and essentially get a free vehicle with no deposit or top up to pay, depending on which model you want.
Petrol, diesel and electric options. |

There are 2 rates to mobility allowance, you are only able to get a car if you receive the higher allowance of £71 per week.
Some cars require a deposit amount, some do not, you are responsible for this deposit.
Your mobility allowance will be paid directly to the mobility scheme if you get a car, includes everything apart from fuel or electricity.
It does not automatically entitle you to a blue badge, there is a separate body that looks after this and is applied for separately.
The Motability website has a FAQ section that is worth a read.
