Hysterectomy
I am 22 years old, I have no money and no prospects, I’m already a burden to my parents…and I’m frightened.
And I want a hysterectomy because my life is so miserable with my chronic illnesses.
I’m not looking for sympathy or for actual medical advice I just need to vent without the fear of people who know me getting involved lol.
I have PCOS but it’s getting fobbed off as something to do with my weight and yeah maybe it contributes to it but as I try and be healthy I just keep getting pushed back and back. I’m almost 99% certain I have chronic fatigue syndrome and I’ve been fighting for YEARS with the doctors and they keep fobbing me off.
The majority of my misery and health problems are caused by my womb. I’m having my first period in 3 months and yet I’ve still been living in hell and agony until this day. They say I don’t have endometriosis but it runs in my family.
I’m a lesbian and I’m 100% certain I’m never having kids biologically. I just want it gone.

Oh yeah sorry I should have clarified lol this isn’t a split second decision or anything, I’ve been thinking about this way before I was even 18. I just need to vent because I know it’s not happening any time soon :’) |

Gosh I’m so sorry to hear. I’ve had 2 family members and a very good friend who really struggled with similar problems. My friend’s life was a misery until they gave her the right help and meds for endometriosis.
Are you able to see a gynecologist privately and have it checked out properly? I think a hysterectomy is a drastic step as it affects your body in so many ways (bones, skin, hair, libido) but they did do it in her 20s for my cousin as she was so unwell. She did have kids already tho.
What I would add is that of course some people know they really don’t want kids all their life or early on. But similarly some of us do change our mind quite drastically so do keep that in mind.
Perhaps also speak to a mental health professional to get some support?
Sorry you are going through this OP. |

As someone that started their periods at 9 years old and wore nighttime towels from that age...and is struggling at my age now to be taken seriously, don't give up, ask for different doctors, referrals, refuse to leave till they've seen what comes out
Don't give up |
