I got my first just under two years ago, a vixen on my wrist. Went back for another about 4 weeks later, another 3 months after that, and had my 4th within the year! No more plans for any more just yet!

I got my first tattoo when I was 19! It was a small tribal piece which has slowly grown into my half sleeve.

I have got 9 in total including a massive back piece done. I still want more done, it's just getting around to it

I had my first tattoo done when I was 16, I think. Just a small one on my wrist for my grandparents.

I have quite a few now though. I’ve added some new ones recently. I always have an idea in my head of what I want next before that one is even finished

Like an idiot, I had my first while a young teen in school, now have far too many to count all over my my body.

Do I regret them, Yes very much so. Most have now faded to into indistinct blobs of mainly black or blue as all colours fade. The sun being the worst culprit.

Also the artwork of today is far far and away a thousand time better, and the colours much nicer. Also yes I found it very addictive. One never knows where life will take us, and my big regret was going up in the world and meeting lords ladies, and meeting Royals and shaking hands with my hands both inked. Silly in a way as the Q M had tattoos on her forearms' don't know about others. I was at a convention once many decades ago and a gentleman was walking round with a loin cloth on he was covered in stars a full body suit, except for hands and face and neck, he was apparently a major high court judge! So one never knows.

Was a black widow when I was 17.

Although I suppose, when I was a tween, I wanted to know what was inside a battery and I stabbed one open with a compass, accidently caught my own fingers afew times and it left black dots that I still have so perhaps that's kind of my first?

Got my first when I was 21. They've come on a loooong way since then..

My last 2 were 8 hours and 12 hours each in the chair, each in one sitting during a heatwave! Love them..

It's very very rare to find someone with only 1 tattoo.. I have 6 now..... I think.. Haha..

Planning my next one for the summer, a nice viking compass piece on my calf.

First one at 19. It was a mistake. It got covered up 6 years later with one that means something to me.

They all now mean something to me and so will the next. That'll be number 12.

I'm not addicted, they're just aid memoires

"What was your first and was you sober ?"

Every tattooist I know will not tattoo someone who they believe is under the influence of alcohol and/or dr ugs

This is for many reasons such as getting something inked they may not normally, alcohol thins the blood and therefore makes the job a lot harder, the person may become abusive towards them, and it’s just against most tattooists ethics to do it

I have one small one that I had done when I was young and (even more) stupid. I don't like it and will get it covered at some point...I just don't want to end up with something bigger that I dislike just as much. Thankfully it's somewhere where it can't be seen unless I'm naked. Definitely not an addiction for me, I'd prefer to have kept my skin unmarked, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Just after some advice.

If I went on a monday for shoulder tattoo, thinking of going to an event the Thursday or Friday is likely to be stupid in case I hurt arm.

Much as I’d like to I’m thinking that’s daft.

My first one is on the side of my right calf, got it when I was 18 with a couple of friends, we were East 17 fans and went to the same studio in Walthamstow the band went too. Ironically I got the same tattoo that Ronan Keating had as his first tattoo (warrior in Japanese)...do I regret it? Nope! Can't even remember the last time I looked at it tbh. I've since gone on to have 10 more scattered over my body (4 of which I have done myself, yes they look absolutely shit but here we are and I never regret a single one).

Sticking to a plan for one limb.

When in two months ago, saw a young women yelping at getting one on back of her thigh. Her swearing got progressively more creative

Ask them to use the 2nd skin covering after. You don't have to touch it at all for a week to 10 days then. Literally nothing until it comes off and the tattoo underneath is 100% healed

And it's clear so you don't see it either

It is addictive. I didn’t have my first until about 5 years ago but had 11 so far, including a big one on the back of my right calf that took two 6 hours sessions and almost put me off for good! I’m trying to work out what’s next. Although, every time I think of something I realise that I am nothing more, or less, part of the zeitgeist.

"Just after some advice.

If I went on a monday for shoulder tattoo, thinking of going to an event the Thursday or Friday is likely to be stupid in case I hurt arm.

Much as I’d like to I’m thinking that’s daft.

I had my forearm finished off last week but felt okay next day but that’s ’touch up/finishing details’...don't be a girls blouse you'll be fine

I’m not usually too much of a big girls blouse but, just thinking if two/three days enough to coat with the cream stuff and get away with it.

"

What would your Namesake do in this instance, he be tattooed take a village and still fuck the night away

Could be a plan. Haven’t did that so far.

Got first one in 2006. Put it around my ankle. Did this deliberately thinking if I didn't like it then trousers and socks would cover it up. Loved it, have 16 now

"My first one is on the side of my right calf, got it when I was 18 with a couple of friends, we were East 17 fans and went to the same studio in Walthamstow the band went too.

Her swearing got progressively more creative "

I think I have a high pain threshold, the young woman showed us what she had done and was sort of ‘are you not feeling that’ when looking at mine

"I had another 6 hours added Monday this week actually, self confessed obsessed with (good quality) tattoos, "

Good luck. I had two 6 hour sessions once and it almost put me off for good. I had to lie on my stomach and my back hurt and I couldn’t chat in the usual way. I like the finished job though.

It’s an open wound. It will not be okay in a couple of days. Keep it moisturised and don’t touch it. Every hit will be agony and will mess up your lines. Don’t do it.

My upper back tattoo ( the eyes of horus) I had done in 98', completely redone in 2013. Had a couple of Sak Yant tattoos ( hand tapped in with bamboo)done on my chest since which actually tickled as opposed to my back that hurt like buggery and bled like a pig.

Having my legs done next in Samoan/Polynesian block work next.

I was 16 when I got my first. It was a red devil on the side of my right calf. It was bloody awful, but I thought it was the dog's bollocks when I first got it. It's covered up now along with many other tattoos I've had covered over the years.

I was 18 when I got one. The chap doing it predicted I'd be back for loads more. The one I got was pretty impulsive with zero thought going into it.

I never did get more... maybe bc of his assumption? I'm pretty contrary like that!

Not an addiction for me, the ones I have are personal and mean something to me, that's the reason I have them.

Would I have more, yes of course but one thing and another always got in the way, so now I'm just waiting on the next life event.

I can easily see how people have lots and lots. Very satisfying

I had my first one nearly three years ago, I’ve now got a 1/2 sleeve on the go on one arm, a massive thigh piece on one leg and half of the other leg covered plus my ribs, another one at the top of one arm and the first one I had done on my shoulder. It is 100% an addiction!

"Like an idiot, I had my first while a young teen in school, now have far too many to count all over my my body.

So one never knows."

My advice is; if you are going to have tattoos just have them on places you can cover them if needed

My first tattoo was when I was 18, and is a little Chinese symbol on my bikini line.

It's ment to mean true, real, sincere.

But that sounds boring. So these days I tell people it says "enter here"

My first tattoo was a lions head in a celtic design.

Give me the desire to get more animal tattoos but now I come up with a nice life event story and select the appropriate animal(s) to depict my interpretation. Thus all my tatts tell a story about me making them more personal and meaningful.
