I always tell a lady if she looks good even if I don't know them it always brings a smile to their faces if she's taken time to do her hair and makeup etc why not, just wondering what ladies or guys think about it |

Creepy harassment from random men always gets a smile.
If you’re about to argue that:
A. It’s not creepy, I’m not creepy.
B. It’s not harassment
Just shake your head and check yourself… and leave women alone

I find compliments from strange gents a bit creepy, but I do say thank you and pass it off. Probably because of the world we live in and where compliments aren't really given anymore or used with other motives |

If you mean in your everyday life, I think you shouldn’t make that kind of comment to women you don’t know well (like work colleagues) unless you would also routinely give an identical comment to the men you know. |

Me too. I go even further and honk their bezonders because they enjoy that. Then give them a little slap on the ass before seeing them go off on their dainty little ways.
Women are such cute little things. |

I always make sure to avoid any and all contact with women I don’t know, seeing as they are lesser than men, in multiple different ways, I don’t want to intimidate or scare them. |

Very occasionally when out shopping, and being served in shops, have very kind ladies said, just to let you know, I think you look fabulous and very elegant.
A couple of times when browsing, I have also been stopped by young ladies, who have also commented on how good I look.
I will be honest, I find such comments soooo uplifting … it really does mean such a lot!

"I think you know your audience and whether it's a good idea or not.
I think you can give a compliment to a stranger without being a creep but it's a fine line to tread."
Well said Meli, and it would be a shit world if you couldn’t compliment someone without being labelled a creep? |

Complements on here are empty, without any kind of sincerity and meaningless. They are simply words used by guys thinking it will get them a shag. They simply think they are magic words to open your legs.
Again complements from stranger outside 95% of the time are sexually orientated. Only Complements i accept are from people i know and know they are genuine.
But there are many that need complements and go out if their way to get them however shallow, empty or insincere. |

I would be flattered if someone paid me a nice compliment. I wouldn't find it offensive unless they were crude.
It's a very sad world when someone can't tell someone else they look lovely without causing offence. |

A genuine, off the cuff compliment from anyone, with no agenda other than you think they look good is nice.
Men I don't know never compliment me nowadays but when I was younger it was rarely 'just because ' and usually had a sexual undertone eg 'i love your dress it makes your tits look great '. Women I don't know fairly often compliment my hair or clothes
For tips on how to genuinely compliment strangers of all genders see Troy Hawke. |

As long as it feels genuine and not creepy it's ok.
Like a compliment about something I'm wearing or my hair is completely acceptable.
Just not about body parts... It's definitely a fine line.
I like to compliment people too and make them smile. |

I'm curious what you mean by women being "lesser than men in multiple different ways" |

You posted this exact same thread 2 weeks ago, I wasn’t sure what the point was then and I’m still not…

I once had a complement from a lady whilst getting my car park ticket from the machine all she said was you smell nice. I turned around looked at her and just said thank you
With a smile made my day. |

I send compliments to people here all the time. With no intention other than to share my admiration. I suspect lots are read and ignored but I've had a few people say thanks and once someone even complimented me back. Karma I guess. |

Dear oh dear what kind of world do
We live in where a compliment is creepy
I got told I smelt great the other day, twice on the same day once by a friend and once by a complete stranger, I thanked them both and didn’t feel the need to fuck either ( although the friend would definitely be on my to do list) as others have said I think a lot is about tone and words used.
But above all people just be nice to each other when you can |

"The question I would ask is - What would motivate you or why would you go to perfect stranger and give them a complement."
Because it's nice to be nice, and it could actually be the one and only thing that makes a person smile that day.
I really don't understand why so many people on here are cynical and doubtful and think there has to be an ulterior motive other than just being nice. It's a sad world we live in. |

I think about it in my mind.
My lips remain sealed however, as I go about my business. |
