Has anybody been to Turkey for dental work? Or any cosmetic surgery? I require some dental work and the price quoted in this country is a joke. It’s around a quarter of the price in Turkey. I’m seriously considering it and I’m keen to hear about other people’s experiences and recommendations.
Thanks in advance. |

My barber is Turkish, he had some work done on a wisdom tooth and its given him problems.
Can't get it treated on the NHS as he had the work done in Turkey.
Caveat emptor. |

I’ve heard a few people have problems and can’t get an NHS dentist to sort it out |

I needed an extraction of one tooth around 4yrs ago and my dentist in West London quoted me £250 so I decided to look elsewhere. A dental clinic on Fakebook kept popping up on my feed and they’re based out in Zagreb, haven’t looked back since.
I booked a cheap flight, spent 2 nights in their on-site apartments, full x-ray, extraction all done, also 3 fillings which I didn’t know I needed..full bill came in at £156..!!!
I was out there last in July to get 4 implants all done and finished over a 4 month period and it cost me £4000, accommodation and flights included.
I now tend to go over there once a year for a check up and explore Croatia while I’m there. |

I work with a Turk, he told me never get cosmetic dentist work done in Turkey as not in EU the materials used are not to the same standard as what would be required within the EU, think BS123, EN123 etc etc.
He did say Turkish surgeons/doctors/dentists and hospitals are excellent however. |

Most places will offer a range of materials (porcelains, glass reinforced acrylics, plastics) for different prices. There are a lot of products available for different budgets. You need to do your research and know what you want and negotiate well as there are no fixed prices when medical or dental is private and you won’t get much impartial advice from companies. They will happily sell you the cheapest product for the highest price too if you are stupid. |

Came across this and thought id share some experience and info. If Turkey is an option you havr to do meticulous research, know and understand exactly what they are going on about. There can be scammers and dentists who are underqualified etc.
Now if you still require cheap dental treatment another cheap place in europe are the eastern european countries for dental work. Ie czech, hungary, bulgaria. These are countries ive heard good stories from.
I personally studied dentistry and lived in bulgaria (for 6 years) and can even assist or help in directing you to someone or answer more questions if anyone has any. |

A friend at work went to turkey for an operation on her nose this was not a cosmetic as you would say nose job but for medical reasons breathing problems always of sick work for it. Since she’s been back hasn’t had any time of sick for her nose. Due to her lower back being damaged she said she will be going over to get that done to. Yes there is good and bad just have to do the research and read the reviews to find the good ones so yes would be a good option to go to turkey a break away as well as getting any treatment and saving time and money waiting times here are a joke and expensive |

I absolutely would not touch it, due to the total lack of redress that you have should you have problems. Your teeth are a once only asset for life. If they are altered, you don't get another chance to have more.
Better to have UK treatment or from within the EU, should this not be possible. But UK dentists may not be able to recover you from previous.
